About Raimes
Raimes produces exceptional sparkling wines from grapes grown on the chalk-rich slopes of the South Downs National Park in Hampshire. Established by a fifth-generation farming family, Raimes is deeply rooted in its heritage. The first 10-acre vineyard, planted in 2011, is dedicated to the classic Champagne varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir.
The single-estate, limited-edition wines are crafted using the traditional bottle-fermentation method. Family-grown and meticulously nurtured, Raimes wines are celebrated for their exquisite quality. Available online, through selected stockists, or during vineyard tours and tastings, these wines are a true reflection of their unique terroir.
The Raimes farm, part of the historic Tichborne Estate, stretches from the ecologically diverse water meadows of the River Itchen to the rolling hills of the South Downs. Alongside their vineyards, the family manages a thriving farm cultivating wheat, barley, and oilseed rape, and raising a pedigree herd of horned Hereford cattle.
The South Downs’ chalk substratum, shared with Champagne, imparts a distinctive minerality that balances ripeness, acidity, and aroma. England’s cooler climate and extended growing season further enhance the wines’ complexity. Grapes are handpicked at peak ripeness and gently pressed before being transformed into award-winning sparkling wine by the skilled team at Hattingley Winery.
With Emma Rice, a two-time UK Winemaker of the Year, and now Rob MacCulloch MW at the helm, RAIMES English Sparkling continues to embody elegance and excellence.
