Furleigh Estate Bacchus Fumé NV (6 Bottles) Bridport, Dorset, England

£126.00

A brilliantly food-friendly, aromatic dry white wine with hints of tropical fruit.

Star-bright medium lemon with good legs. Ripe stone fruits of peach and nectarine mingle with passion-flower and lime-blossom alongside kiwifruit and exotic mandarin. Tropical fruits explode on the palate including pineapple, mango and guava with a touch of lime zest and gooseberry fool.

Very subtle oak integration gives a hint of vanilla and coconut on the finish. It has a slightly richer, creamy mouthfeel and well-balanced acidity with lingering flavours that pack quite a fruity punch.

Excellent served chilled with oriental Thai chicken green curry or aromatic Asian fish stew infused with lemongrass, ginger and kaffir lime. Enjoy it with oven-roasted whole fish such as sea bass or sea bream cooked ‘en papillotte’ with herbs such as coriander or parsley. Also good with Mediterranean vegetables and stuffed vine-leaves. Or try it with oven-baked camembert with rosemary dunked in chunks of artisan bread.

Yotes Court ‘LiveLoveLaugh’ Sparkling Pinot Gris 2022 (6 Bottles) Maidstone, Kent, England

£114.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

Crisp and crunchy Traditional Method sparkling wine. Fresh-from-the-oven bread crust on the nose with a structured wild raspberry and red apple palate.

Aromas of fresh-from-the-oven bread crust from 3 years on lees are complimented by the lifted red fruit profile from Pinot Noir dominated by wild raspberry and crunchy red apple. A structured wine with a fragrant finish.

Food Pairing:
The obvious choice for toasts and celebrations, but also enjoy the freshness and bubbles with a lobster risotto, or open a bottle as a decadent companion to traditional fish and chips.

Coolhurst Ktima Gerovassiliou Malagousia (6 Bottles) Horsham, West Sussex, England via Greece

£124.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND DELIVERY INCLUDED

NECTAR FROM A DIFFERENT HECTARE

This very fine bottle of white wine comes from the exceptional Ktima Gerovassiliou, who are veritable magicians. It is important to know that, in a market now well represented by the indigenous Malagousia varietal, this estate was responsible for rescuing said grape from extinction in 1981. This baby is the benchmark of the varietal and comes from immaculate 74 acre slopes in Epanomi.

It’s all in here; white pear, mango and lemon zest on the nose and a mouthful of refreshing fruit with a hint of mountain herbs underpinned by a delicious flinty, mineral backbone. Obviously this is a natural partner to Greek and Mediterranean food but it has the kahunas to stand up to Thai spice too. If you like Sauvignon Blanc or Bacchus you’re going to love this.
