This Central Otago Pinot Noir has aromas of cherry, redcurrant and thyme are underpinned by hints of rose petal and subtle spice. Fine tannins frame the vibrant red fruit, savoury undertones and a touch of earthiness from the whole bunch. The wine is silky and layered in textures with the French oak lending structure and finesse. Bottled unfiltered for purity, expression and ability to age.

Named after the German poet after which the grape variety was named, Justinius Kerner is a special edition of "Kerner". Aromatic, intense & delicious.

Made of: 100% Kerner (97% of a single tank, 2% Barrel fermented)

Tastes of: Rhubarb & Ginger compote, Apple, Quince, Ginger

Sweetness: Dry

Acidity: High, Slightly spritzy

2022 produced the ripest Kerner our vineyard has ever produced. Coming in naturally at 12.8% Abv (remembering this is a relative of Riesling), there was an intensity & complexity to this variety that we have never experienced. Spritzy and refreshing, it displays vivid flavours of rhubarb & ginger compote, with a savoury, nutty background. A fantastic aperitif, or paired with pork, fatty fish, or Japanese cuisine. A once in a decade vintage.
