This classic cuvée of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier has all the hallmarks of a fine sparkling wine. Subtle fruit on the nose, predominately red berries from the Pinot, a little light citrus from the Chardonnay, and a hint of peach is backed up by a really long, mouth-filling palate that lingers and satisfies. The Verhaeghe family have been making wine in the Lot since the 1950s. Today it is Pascal and Jean-Marc in charge of the domaine, which is certified organic. They own three parcels of vineyards, the largest of which is 12.5 acres with stony calcareous clay which is called `Tran`, which plays an important role retaining heat and moisture. Drawing on his winemaking experience from California to Burgundy.

A deep, dark red hue sets the stage for a wine with an intense yet elegant blackcurrant, plum and cedar aromas. On the palate, it is wonderfully smooth and round, delivering vibrant dark fruit flavours with exceptional intensity combining with spice and oak.

12.5% ABV, Vegan Friendly.

Nutbourne Nutty “Wild” NV (6 Bottles) Pulborough, West Sussex, England

£127.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

A lower alcohol sparkling wine made by classic bottle fermentation, from the second pressing of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. This is a light joyous drink with a hint of strawberries and raspberries, delicate and tangy with a soft blush tint.

Produced as a simple, young, natural wine made with minimal interference, fermented to 10% alcohol, Nutty Wild is for quaffing with friends and pairs well with summer berries. A great drink for barbecues and buffets, it is an “anytime” easy drinking fizz to make you smile.

The art: Just as Nutbourne wines are only made from grapes grown on the estate, every bottle features Bridget Gladwin’s paintings. This is an image of the vine in Winter, but with the exotic colours of a wild party.
