The Cape Mentelle journey is a true labour of love, born from humble beginnings in 1970 with just sixteen hectares of vines. Fast forward to today, and this iconic winery has carefully crafted each blend to showcase the unique characteristics of its terroir, resulting in wines that are both complex and approachable.

This wine is a crafted blend of flavours and textures, showcasing the best of Margaret River Shiraz. This 16 Hectares Shiraz is a medium-bodied delight, with a rich array of dark fruit flavours, including red cherry, blackberry, and spiced plum. These flavours are beautifully complemented by layers of cedar and warm spice, adding depth and complexity to the wine. With its finely textured tannins and refreshing acidity, this wine is both elegant and refined. The gravelly soils of the Wallcliffe vineyard have imparted a subtle minerality, while the wild-yeast fermentation has added a touch of nuance. Fresh and fruity, the wine is soft and dry with intense lemon, apple and mineral flavours.

Grape Varieties - 60% Chardonnay. 20% Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot Meunier

The crisp finish makes it a perfect aperitif and equally a great wine pairing with light fish dishes or any type of seafood.

The grapes were hand picked and whole bunch pressed. Fermented and aged in staineless steel tanks before bottling. Put through malolactic fermentation.

This exceptional value for money English Sparkling Wine won gold at the recent WineGB 2023 Awards. Blending together the three traditional "Champagne" varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, from 2014, 2015 and 2016 vintages, our NV Sparkling Cuvée was left to age in bottle for two years on its lees.
