Shotley Vineyard Bacchus 2023 (6 Bottles) Ipswich, Suffolk, England

£118.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

This single estate Bacchus is floral with notes of elderflower on the nose. It’s crisp on the palate with hints of gooseberry and lime. This wine pairs beautifully with chicken or seafood.

Bacchus is increasingly grown in England. The cooler climate in England means the grapes retain a higher acidity. Bacchus is sometimes called the ‘Sauvignon Blanc of the UK’.

Penn Croft Village Bacchus 2022 (6 Bottles) Crondall, Hampshire, England

£120.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

Village Bacchus combines our considered approach with craft and character, delivering a distinctively cool, clean and people-pleasing wine for everyone.

Our 2022 harvest produced a classic wine pale in colour yet intense in aromas. Village Bacchus—promising grapefruit zest, nectarine stone and pear skin— is a wonderfully-weighted wine that is perfectly suited for an alluring aperitif or a regular revisit.

Since 2003, this property has been in the very capable hands of brothers Antoine and Nicolas Chiquet. Together with Marion (Antoine’s daughter) they work 23 hectares of vineyards in Dizy, Aÿ, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Hautvillers.

Golden yellow hue, fine mousse. Fresh nose of dried fruit (apricot) with a hint of citrus. Smooth palate (Meunier); fresh, balanced and fruity (fresh apricot, white peach, citrus); aromatic finish.

12.5% ABV.

Hanwell Eglantine R&R Red Blend (6 Bottles) Hickling Pastures, Nottinghamshire, England

£144.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

Rondo and Regent both deliver distinct flavours. The Rondo has a smoky aroma and is the initial flavour, think Summer barbeques. The tannins and dark fruits of the hedgerow, sloes, damsons and blackberries then kick in delivering a round rich mouth.

This rare creation is Eglantine’s first red wine for a decade! Made from the grapes of a small quantity of red grape vines. Regent and Rondo grape varieties have a short growing season, allowing them to ripen well in the Nottinghamshire climate. Made into wine in South Nottinghamshire by international award winning maker Tony Skuriat, a true local wine!

This wine is a blend across multiple vintages: 2017 through to 2022. The juice began it’s fermentation on the skins, giving it a deep red colour and rich tannins.
