Black Chalk Classic Sparkling White 2021 (6 Bottles) Andover, Hampshire, England

£240.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

A sophisticated blend of 50% Chardonnay, 38% Pinot Noir, and 12% Pinot Meunier, this wine embodies elegance and precision. The Chardonnay-led profile delivers a vibrant fruit focus, while a touch of malolactic fermentation adds a layer of richness and texture, perfectly balanced by the wine’s hallmark freshness.

On the palate, expect a textured and full-bodied experience, supported by bright acidity (8.5g/l) and subtle sweetness (5.4g/l residual sugar). The wine is aged for a minimum of 22 months on lees, enhancing complexity, with an additional 6 months on cork post-disgorgement to ensure perfect integration.

A versatile choice for any occasion. Enjoy as an aperitif with crisps and canapés, or elevate everyday dining by pairing with fried chicken. For a more refined match, complement its freshness and texture with shellfish such as oysters, crab, or prawns.

Albourne Estate Bacchus 2022 (6 Bottles) Albourne, West Sussex, England

£107.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

English-grown Bacchus grapes produce aromatic, fresh and crisp wines similar in style to Sauvignon Blanc but with their own distinctive aroma profile.

As is typical of the varietal, our 2022 Bacchus is pale, with a crisp light mouth feel and recogniseable aromatic complexity.

The diversity of aromas can range from herbaceous (tomato leaf, basil, sage, nettle, asparagus, grassy) to citrus (lime zest, lemon, grapefruit) to tropical fruit (medlar, mango, passionfruit) to floral (elderflower, honeysuckle) with the intensity ranging from punchy and intense to more subtle and elegant.

Our style of Bacchus aims for intriguing aromatic complexity and subtle elegance which we believe the 2022 delivers in abundance.

More about the Bacchus grape

The variety originated in Germany in the 1930’s as a cross between Muller-Thurgau and Silvaner x Riesling which has helped contribute to its complex nature. In order to enhance this complexity and build ‘terroir-character’ into our wines we blend multiple unique batches picked on different dates, split into different press fractions and fermented with different yeasts.

Food Match Suggestions: The crisp acidity and freshness makes Bacchus perfect as an appetising aperitif wine. It also pairs beautifully with English asparagus or goats cheese as well as seafood such as dressed shellfish or stronger flavoured salads such as Caesar or rocket.

Nutbourne Hedgerow 2018 (6 Bottles) Pulborough, West Sussex, England

£103.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

As the name suggests, this is a wine that captures the essence of the Sussex landscape.

It is off-dry, made from a blend of our Riesling-style German varietals, including fruit from our forty-year-old vines.

A blend of Shönburger, Bacchus and Huxelrebe creates a beautifully rounded wine with a big wildflower bouquet and an abundance of hedgerow fruits.

Hedgerow is not as sweet as a dessert wine but has richness and character to cope with big flavoured foods. Pairs well with strong blue cheeses, chicken liver paté, game terrines and orchard fruit desserts.

The art: Just as Nutbourne wines are only made from grapes grown on the estate, every bottle features Bridget Gladwin’s paintings. Our vineyards are protected by the South Downs and from the ridge of the Downs there are wonderful views like this patchwork of colours, angles and textures.
