Artelium Blanc de Blancs 2018 (6 Bottles) Streat, East Sussex, England

A fresh, silky-smooth style of Blanc de Blancs. Lemon citrus, cantaloupe melon and proving dough fill the nose. The palate is medium-bodied, creamy textured and generous. A long finish with bright fruit clarity and a digestive biscuit note that lingers long.
A classy, smoothly structured example of this elegant English Sparkling that captures the exceptional quality of the 2018 vintage.
Made from Chardonnay with a small dash (2%) of Pinot Meunier, this traditional method of sparkling wine spent four years on the lees, giving it enriching notes of proving dough and fine mousse.

Albarino was planted by the Nicholas family here in Kent after many holidays in Galicia in Spain. In warm years such as 2022 is ripens with a high natural acidity and beautifully lean style which cannot be made anywhere else. Chapel Down were the first winemaker to produce an English Albariño.
