The wine presents a clear deep ruby colour with rich aromas of blackcurrant and morello cherries with hints of vanilla, prunes, and spice - pepper, coriander and cloves and a smokiness reminiscent of lapsang southong tea.
The wine is medium bodied with moderate tannins with smooth, subtle tannins and with notable freshness with a long finish.
This wine pairs well with duck, beef bourguignon, roasted chicken, hard cheese ans South Asian dishes.

Modern white wines are generally pressed from their skins prior to fermentation. Orange wine is a term given to white wines that have been fermented and aged on their skins.
2022 Litmus Orange is produced from from 100% hand harvested Bacchus. The Bacchus was fermented and remained for six weeks on skins without sulphur dioxide.
Pale gold in colour the wine displays hazelnut, fennel and marzipan characters on the nose. The palate has a touch of Vanilla spice, is incredibly generous and complex and boasts a long broad palate with a gripping astringency and smooth, long finish. Enjoy with oily meats and spicy dishes.

This limited release Pinot Gris is very reminiscent of an Alsace Pinot Gris, richer than the Bacchus and fuller bodied it is very well balanced. Ideally located below Constantia Nek, just moments from the bustling Cape Town city centre, Constantia Glen is a picturesque wine estate producing ultra-premium, cool climate white and red wines. Although winemaking began in 1685, recent history begins with the Waibel family, who purchased the land in 1960. Although this land is difficult to farm – as evident by rapid change of ownership from 1813-1960 – the dedication, patience and passion of the Waibel family has proven reward.
This Sauvignon Blanc is bright and pale straw in colour with a subtle green tint. Bold tropical aromas of gooseberry and ripe white peach leap from the glass, complemented by delicate hints of stone fruit, citrus rind, and a refined chalky minerality. These vibrant aromatics seamlessly carry onto the palate, where they marry beautifully with the fresh acidity and textured mouthfeel. The wine is elegant, vibrant, and refined, with excellent fruit concentration and length. Extended lees contact and a touch of 2% Sémillon add depth and richness, balancing the crisp acidity. Made in a classic unwooded style, this Sauvignon Blanc is a delightful drink now, but it will evolve beautifully with 5 to 8 years of ageing under optimal cellaring conditions.
