This incredibly light Pinot is pretty, fruity and refreshing. With 20% Carbonic Maceration and no oak, it is a light and fruity expression of cool climate Pinot. Drink chilled with fresh pizza, tomato'y pasta, or as an aperitif. Benefits from a short decant.

Westwell Multi Vintage Pinot Meunier (6 Bottles) Westwell, Kent, England

Each year 400kg of fruit were whole bunch pressed and allowed to ferment spontaneously. In 2021 the fermenting juice was added to the existing base wine and bottled when the correct sugar level was reached. No additions were made at any point during the process. Disgorged with zero dosage.

The palate is dry and lively, showing flavours of green apple, lime zest and tropical citrus. The Cape Mentelle journey is a true labour of love, born from humble beginnings in 1970 with just sixteen hectares of vines. Fast forward to today, and this iconic winery has carefully crafted each blend to showcase the unique characteristics of its terroir, resulting in wines that are both complex and approachable.
This stunning blend is a masterclass in harmony, with Cabernet Sauvignon taking centre stage and showcasing its signature dark fruits, bright cassis, and subtle hints of dried herbs.
The Merlot, meanwhile, brings a subtle yet luxurious touch, adding plush blue fruits and warmth to the mix. As the flavours meld together, the wine is beautifully supported by supple tannins and neatly integrated oak, creating a wonderful taste experience.

Intense dark ruby colour clean and crisp with the pure expressive terroir on the palate
Medium bodied with moderate tannins the wine is, silky and aromatic with notable freshness and a splash bouquet of summer red fruits predominantly strawberries and dry cranberry , orange rinds, and slightly spicey with a hint of warm vanilla toast and cream caramel with a long finish.
The tannins are still fresh but well balanced and this a wine that could be drunk now but will age well.
This wine pairs well with duck, beef bourguignon and roasted chicken as well as hard cheese.
