Ideally located below Constantia Nek, just moments from the bustling Cape Town city centre, Constantia Glen is a picturesque wine estate producing ultra-premium, cool climate white and red wines. Although winemaking began in 1685, recent history begins with the Waibel family, who purchased the land in 1960. Although this land is difficult to farm – as evident by rapid change of ownership from 1813-1960 – the dedication, patience and passion of the Waibel family has proven reward.
This Sauvignon Blanc is bright and pale straw in colour with a subtle green tint. Bold tropical aromas of gooseberry and ripe white peach leap from the glass, complemented by delicate hints of stone fruit, citrus rind, and a refined chalky minerality. These vibrant aromatics seamlessly carry onto the palate, where they marry beautifully with the fresh acidity and textured mouthfeel. The wine is elegant, vibrant, and refined, with excellent fruit concentration and length. Extended lees contact and a touch of 2% Sémillon add depth and richness, balancing the crisp acidity. Made in a classic unwooded style, this Sauvignon Blanc is a delightful drink now, but it will evolve beautifully with 5 to 8 years of ageing under optimal cellaring conditions.

El Convertido is based in the central Spanish region Castilla‑La Mancha, known as one of Spain’s largest and most important wine-producing areas. Its vineyards lie on the central plateau (the Meseta Central), a wide, relatively flat region at moderate altitude with hot summers and cold winters — ideal conditions for the varieties grown there. Monte del Frà (meaning ‘land of the monks’) gets its name from the late 15th century, when a group of Friars formed a monastery on the land. Some hundred years later, the friars leased 25 hectares for the cultivation of vineyards and fruit trees. You can, in fact, still see this document today in the Vienna’s historic library. Fast forward several centuries, and Monte del Frà is now in the very capable hands of the Bonomo family. For over six decades the family have farmed this land, now resting firmly with the third generation; Marica, Silvia and Massimo Bonomo.
Delicate scents of berry fruits, raspberries, redcurrants, and wild flowers, accompanied by light and refreshing hints of green apples and by spicy tones, cinnamon, cloves and vanilla.

A delightfully elegant dry English sparkling wine with good potential for ageing. It has a pale golden straw colour with lots of minute bubbles.
Delicate floral aromas of hawthorne and acacia blossom mingle with nutty notes of crushed hazelnuts and blanched almonds. There are also wonderful aromas of freshly baked brioche and Italian pandoro on the nose alongside melon and ripe pear. It has delicious ripe orchard and stone fruit on the palate with aromatic coxes apple, white peach, yellow nectarine and greengage, plus a touch of zesty grapefruit, waxed lemon and Cape gooseberry.
Additional subtle nutty flavours blend with a hint of oat-biscuit on the palate. It is dry with a nice creamy mousse and slightly saline structure underpinned by a lovely acid balance giving freshness and great length which is ideal for ageing, so it has plenty of life ahead of it.
Serve this dry sparkling wine well-chilled in a flute as an aperitif paired with smoked salmon blinis with lemon crème fraîche, or herby goats cheese on croutons. An excellent accompaniment for a seafood platter with oysters, whelks and crustaceans. Also good with flat fish such as lemon sole, plaice, brill or turbot. Enjoy it with cold poached salmon served with a lemon mayonnaise dressing, or asparagus with hollandaise sauce.
