Mereworth White from White is made exclusively from Estate grown Chardonnay and crafted from a single vintage. This wine is intended to be both approachable yet intensely complex. With a careful balance of lees contact and aging, freshness is brought into harmony with complex flavours and delicate minerality.
Chardonnay grows exceptionally well on the rocky slopes of the greensand ridge where a carefully selected blend of Chardonnay clones and rootstocks produces exceptional fruit that embodies the crisp apple orchards that surround us, the tropical notes of a hot summer and a subtle hoppiness reminiscent of what was grown here before.

Ripe orchard fruits. Lovely, fresh and well balanced with a hint of toasty background notes.
The nose is of redcurrants, sweet red apples and peach with suggestions of pastry and lemon shortbread. The palate is very fruit forward, thanks to the fruits of the ripe 2019 vintage. But it’s perfectly judged, bringing forward a creamy generosity to balance the taut red berry and crisp apple flavours.

This third release of our “SB” is a refreshing sparkling wine with deliciously English Sauvignon Blanc aromas of nettle, gooseberry & grass, heightened by flavours on the palate that deliver a savoury note. Small parcels of our home vineyard Chardonnay were carefully selected across three exceptional vintages and gently pressed in whole bunches. Predominantly barrel fermented in a combination of old and new, toasted
Burgundy and Loire oak barrels, a small selection of base wines also underwent malolactic conversion. Following secondary bottle fermentation in our naturally cool, underground cellars, our second-release Oak Reserve then spent 60 months on lees before disgorging, with six months on cork to complete its journey.
