Biddenden Vineyards Ortega (6 Bottles) Biddenden, Kent, England

Semi-aromatic on the nose, displaying appealing fresh aromas of green apple, grapefruit, cut grass and flora, whilst the palate is medium bodied, crisp and deliciously fruity. May be served as an aperitif, this white would also pair well with lightly spicy dishes and seafood.
Ortega is our signature wine and was one of the first varieties planted in 1969. We have been producing our popular Biddenden Ortega since 1972, and have kept the original Germanic style label as a historical memento.
Biddenden was one of the first vineyards to plant Ortega in the UK in the late 1960’s. Today Ortega covers just over half of the vineyard. Ortega grapes ripen early and are known for their low acidity and high sugar levels. Ortega is widely used in dry still wines, and can also be used to make sweet wines.

Made with Bacchus grapes harvested from mature vines this dry white wine has an intensely floral aroma. This is a perfect and exact blend between Pinot Noir, chosen for its red fruits aroma, its body, depth of flavour and fullness, and Pinot Meunier, our favourite, for its aromatic sweetness, a lush fruitiness and the capacity to acquire the roundness of age comparatively rapidly. The Pinot Noir grape provides the back-bone of our wine, whilst the Pinot Meunier lends softeners and orchard fruit aromas. A beautifully rich golden colour as well as an intense nose with red fruit aromas, such as red cherry, cranberry and redcurrant, are enticing us to take a first sip. A hint of strawberry lingers in the background. A creamy, full mouthfeel contributes to a very long finish. Ideal served on its own as an aperitif or try it alongside a quiche Lorraine or Parma ham.

Deep crimson red in colour, with aromas of cassis and red plum on the nose. The palate is medium bodied, with a soft, silky texture and a subtle hint of spice from the oak, which leads to a long, moreish finish. The wine has been gently aged in French oak barrels for 8 months, to add more depth and complexity.

Court Garden Classic Cuvée (6 Bottles) Ditchling, East Sussex, England

This is our classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. It has a pale silver lime-leaf green appearance, with continuous small bubbles. It is toasty, with under-ripe pineapple and greengage fruit behind; brut-style, balanced with creamy mousse and great freshness, and a long finish. This wine is brilliant as an aperitif on its own or wonderful paired with seafood.

Albarino was planted by the Nicholas family here in Kent after many holidays in Galicia in Spain. In warm years such as 2022 is ripens with a high natural acidity and beautifully lean style which cannot be made anywhere else. Chapel Down were the first winemaker to produce an English Albariño.
