Bacchus grapes are particularly well suited to our High Weald terroir, and produce a fresh, aromatic, crisp white wine. This 2022 vintage shows all the benefits of the long hot summer in the UK last year and is slightly more rounded and nuanced than our previous vintages, with strong aromas of pear and gooseberry on the nose and palate and with a deliciously smooth finish.

Cielo e Terra has dual roots in the Veneto region: the Cielo family and the winemakers of the Cantine dei Colli Berici. The Cielo family’s bond with the land dates back to 1908 in the Vicenza countryside, near the Castles of Romeo and Juliet, where the great-grandfather had bought Casa Defrà, a small farm with a vineyard. They enjoy making wines with passion and innovation to create signature versions of traditional Italian wines, looking for the right balance between personality and easy-drinking.
This wine reveals a delicate light pink hue, reflecting its fresh and vibrant character. The bouquet is lively and persistent, offering inviting fruity aromas with notes of pineapple and strawberry. This is a first release of our 100% organic Chardonnay sparkling wine, made in a similar style to our Limney Estate, without yeast added (primary fermentation), unfiltered and with minimal added sulphur. It was fermented in stainless steel. The wine has a dry balance and aromas of white fruit (peach, baked apple) with a clean finish.

Grown in Sussex, just 35 miles from our winery, the grapes are hand-picked and sorted in the vineyard. Whole bunch pressed and fermented using indigenous yeast in old burgundy barrels. The wine underwent natural malolactic fermentation and aged for a total of 7 months with frequent lees stirring. Our pinot meunier is a delicate interpretation of the variety lending itself to aromas of raspberry, mandarin peel, red floral notes, grapefruit, with hints of citrus zest, and dried cranberry.

The 2019 will develop further with age but is perfect for drinking now as an aperitif.

The 2019 vintage of Forty Hall Vineyard's Sparkling Brut is made in the traditional 'Champagne' method from organically grown Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay grapes, tended and harvested by hand by the volunteers at Forty Hall Vineyard in North London.
Our wines are made for us by multi award-winning English wine maker, Will Davenport and reflect the best of low-intervention, natural English winemaking.
