A lightly oaked chardonnay blend, dry with a round palate of pear, peach, yellow apple, and citrus fruit. A lovely nose of soft apple blossom and gentle apricot lead to a palate that is just dry but deliciously fresh and easy to get along with. The apricot follows on from the nose and is combined with rounded citrus fruits – mainly subtle orange and lemon. Produced from Ortega grapes, this wine is just great on its own but will work very well with white fish dishes and salads.

Harrow & Hope Pinot Meunier 2019 (6 Bottles) Marlow, Buckinghamshire, England

85% of this wine was fermented in stainless steel to preserve the unique aromatic qualities of this variety. The rest was fermented in a 500 litre oak puncheon to build structure and length. This is a naturally soft and elegant wine with a subtle floral nose but also has a savory, saline edge. The palate has a moreish quality because of the soft acid profile and elegant almost feather light feel, with the saline finish really drawing you back to have another glass. This wine seems to get better every time I try it. Being the first iteration it’s difficult to say how long it might go on for but if balance is the key to longevity then this has it in abundance.
Palacios Remondo La Vendimia Garnacha Tempranillo 2022 (6 Bottles) Rioja, Spain

Palacios Remondo is a family-owned winery based in Alfaro, in Rioja Oriental, the warmest and most easterly part of the Rioja appellation. The soils here are silty and alluvial and the semi-arid Mediterranean climate is well-suited to growing Garnacha, a variety that is finally coming back into the foreground in this region, after decades of being supplanted by the more popular Tempranillo.
This wine has great phenolic maturity and a salty herb-sour edge to intense almost tarry dark Garnacha. The palate has a fantastic acid-tannin reach which drags clay spice and floral red berry along and along and along ... It’s long, complex, fresh, vital and complete.
