Our winemaking team are continually experimenting with different varieties and styles, releasing limited parcels under the ‘Discovery Series’ label. This collection of vibrant English wines celebrates the art of English winemaking.
Albarino was planted by the Nicholas family here in Kent after many holidays in Galicia in Spain. In warm years such as 2022 is ripens with a high natural acidity and beautifully lean style which cannot be made anywhere else. Chapel Down were the first winemaker to produce an English Albariño.

A fresh, elegant and thoughtful wild ferment from equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Gris.
This wine has an expression of mixed creamy layers of red fruits and yellow stone fruit, such as bright red strawberries, young cherries, freshly cut mango and ripening banana. Medium refreshing acidity with medium body with generous midpalate texture. Crafted by Winemakers Solly Monyamane & Owen Elias with labels from artist The Baron Gilvan.

Nutbourne Pinot Noir 2020 (6 Bottles) Pulborough, West Sussex, England

A limited edition still wine made from 100% Pinot Noir. This is a youthful and fruity red, with ample black cherry and plum, rounded out with some gentle spice. A portion of this wine was aged in French oak for six months to add depth to the lighter Burgundy style.

Created from a blend of our best grapes, specially blended to complement Thai Green Curry or other exotic dishes as well as rich creamy chicken plates. An aromatic wine with essences of tropical fruits on the nose, followed by a warm balanced palate bursting with melon, sweet grapefruit and a hint of pineapple. A gentle underlying acidity and minerality sustains a seductive finish.

Brimming with the warmth and richness of southern Sicily, this full-bodied red is a bold yet elegant expression of the island’s character. Deep, inviting aromas of cassis, and a touch of vanilla rise from the glass, layered with subtle hints of wood smoke. This is a still wine version of our Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine – a white wine made from red grapes! It has a delightful pale onion-skin hue and is intense and forward on the nose with notes of pomegranate, red cherry and mulberry. In the mouth, the wine is smooth and exceptionally well balanced with bone dry crisp acidity and notable minerality. Great to drink on its own or with food.

This wine is 100% Bacchus selected from two blocks from our growers in Essex. These grapes showed exceptional quality and ripeness on arrival at the winery and were separated as a premium offering by our winemaking team.
TASTING: Clear, pale lemon in colour.
NOSE: An intense nose with layers of gooseberry, pineapple, blackcurrant leaf & lime.
PALATE: A beautiful, balanced wine with excellent structure, including tropical fruit, blackcurrant leaf and a smooth mouthfeel. Steely lime acidity continues into a finish that just keeps on going.
