The Cape Mentelle journey is a true labour of love, born from humble beginnings in 1970 with just sixteen hectares of vines. Fast forward to today, and this iconic winery has carefully crafted each blend to showcase the unique characteristics of its terroir, resulting in wines that are both complex and approachable.
This wine is a vibrant and seductive blend of flavours, with a nose that's bursting with juicy yellow peaches, sweet melon, and citrus zest, all entwined with delicate hints of frangipani and honeysuckle. On the palate, the wine is rich and indulgent, with flavours of rock melon, pistachio, and lemon curd that are perfectly balanced by a zesty acidity. The texture is fine and chalky, adding a sense of elegance to the wine. The finish is savoury and lingering, with a satisfying length that leaves you wanting more.

Biddenden Vineyards Ortega (6 Bottles) Biddenden, Kent, England

Semi-aromatic on the nose, displaying appealing fresh aromas of green apple, grapefruit, cut grass and flora, whilst the palate is medium bodied, crisp and deliciously fruity. May be served as an aperitif, this white would also pair well with lightly spicy dishes and seafood.
Ortega is our signature wine and was one of the first varieties planted in 1969. We have been producing our popular Biddenden Ortega since 1972, and have kept the original Germanic style label as a historical memento.
Biddenden was one of the first vineyards to plant Ortega in the UK in the late 1960’s. Today Ortega covers just over half of the vineyard. Ortega grapes ripen early and are known for their low acidity and high sugar levels. Ortega is widely used in dry still wines, and can also be used to make sweet wines.

Domaine Deux Roches is based in the village of Davayé, in the Mâconnais, and is jointly owned by Jean-Luc Terrier and Christian Collovray. Established in 1692, Hartenberg Estate should need little introduction, as one of South Africa’s oldest wineries. This Cabernet offers up everything you`d hunt for in Bordeaux, yet this red is from South Africa`s Hardenberg. Deep black in colour with cigar box, pencil shavings and truffle overlaying the ripe, rich red and black fruit beneath. Judicious use of oak and good acidity provides an impressive structure which this pure fruit clings to, offering lingering, fine tannins on the finish.
