This Bacchus is pale gold in appearance, with notes of elderflower and stone fruit on the nose. Isabel Estate is one of the original Marlborough vineyards with some of the oldest vines in the region on original rootstock. Throughout the 1980s the couple planted key noble varietals and began to deliver fruit of exceptional quality, in high demand from premium and internationally renowned wine producers. Under the leadership of Chief Winemaker Jeremy McKenzie, the winery continues to build its reputation for award winning Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir but is also producing world class Chardonnay. Recognised and awarded, the estate has won. All fruit is estate grown from the 54 hectares of vines, most of which are now organic.
This Chardonnay is a powerful and complex wine displaying notes of gunsmoke, white peach, and nectarine, with hints of lemon and lime. The palate shows roasted almond and brioche notes with an underlying grapefruit citrus note giving the wine length and vibrancy. Mineral. Linear, lengthy, fine acidity carries the wine and gives it great ageability.

Furleigh Estate Eustacia Chardonnay (6 Bottles) Bridport, Dorset, England

Wonderfully refreshing dry white with plenty of zest and backbone. It has a pale lemon hue with elegant legs. Delightful floral aromas of passionflower and lily marry honeydew melon and citrus lemon plus a touch of mandarin on the nose. The palate is dry with excellent acidity and a crisp mouthfeel which revives with every drop. Flavours of Sicilian lemon and yellow grapefruit mingle with braeburn and coxes apple and a hint of orange peel. It has a delicate saline character and great depth of flavour plus a lovely long finish.
Serve chilled with a seafood platter or shellfish. Also good with soused mackerel or roll-mops and especially with escabeche. Excellent with sushi but go easy on the wasabi. Try it with lemon sole and beurre blanc sauce garnished with samphire.

This inspired him to launch the De Haan Altés Custom Cuvées project; Rafael partners with local winemakers he has known for years to craft unique, exceptionally-made cuvees that are the ultimate expressions of their respective terroirs.
Straw colour with a steely green rim. Bright and clean. Varied aromas, fruit and citrus predominating, apple and stone-fruit hints, with some flower notes. Tasty and well-structured in the mouth. Intense aftertaste with fruity and floral hints.
