Across a range of Kentish clay and chalk soils, only the best Chardonnay from Balfour’s top vineyards are found in this stunning wine. This vintage Blanc de Blancs from the fabulous 2018 harvest is only the third to be produced by Balfour in its 20-year history. A style which requires the very best conditions and ripest of fruit.
Tasting Note: Brilliant white gold, with a fine sustained bead and mousse. Clean and fresh with a touch of autolysis, white pepper and dried herbs.

Hungerhill Merstone Bacchus 2023 (6 Bottles) Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

Our Bacchus is made from hand-picked grapes, harvested in early October 2023, the Bacchus grapes from Suffolk, Essex, Oxfordshire and Hungerhill Vineyard were gently pressed in our winery. The pale lemon juice was Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in a third vintage oak barrel from Burgundy, before being bottled in May 2024. The wine is unfiltered, unfined and vegan friendly.
This white wine starts with a floral, citrus and elderflower nose and have aromas of citrus, grapefruit and peach. The Merstone Bacchus is refreshing on the palace and has a long finish.
Merstone Bacchus pairs perfectly with seafood, fish and chips dishes or can be enjoyed on its own.
Burn Valley Solaris Black label 2022 (6 Bottles) Fakenham, Norfolk, England

Our signature white wine at Burn Valley continues to shine, barrel fermented and aged in Hungarian oak for eight months with a mixture of new and aged oak, partial malolactic fermentation is done to produce a rich buttery finish. Isabel Estate is one of the original Marlborough vineyards with some of the oldest vines in the region on original rootstock. Throughout the 1980s the couple planted key noble varietals and began to deliver fruit of exceptional quality, in high demand from premium and internationally renowned wine producers. Under the leadership of Chief Winemaker Jeremy McKenzie, the winery continues to build its reputation for award winning Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir but is also producing world class Chardonnay. Recognised and awarded, the estate has won. All fruit is estate grown from the 54 hectares of vines, most of which are now organic.
This Pinot Noir is a mesmerising ruby-red hue sets the stage for an aromatic experience that unfolds with a symphony of wild flowers, fragrant violets, and lively red cherry notes. The palate reveals rich flavours, with the essence of black cherry, and dried herbs weaving together seamlessly. Sinewy tannins, expertly integrated French oak, and a thoughtful blending process result in a wine with a prolonged and seductive finish. While alluring in its youthful vibrancy, the wine possesses the potential to evolve into a hidden gem with age, acquiring additional layers of complexity over time.

In addition to working with his wife Núria Altés on their ambitious joint project in Terra Alta, Herència Altés, Rafael De Haan has spent the last 10 years sourcing wines across Spain for his excellent négociant business, Bodegas Abanico. In the process he fell in love with the diverstiy of Spanish terroir, especially some lesser-known appellations and unusual varietals. This inspired him to launch the De Haan Altés Custom Cuvées project; Rafael partners with local winemakers he has known for years to craft unique, exceptionally-made cuvees that are the ultimate expressions of their respective terroirs.
Straw colour with a steely green rim. Bright and clean. Varied aromas, fruit and citrus predominating, apple and stone-fruit hints, with some flower notes. Tasty and well-structured in the mouth. Intense aftertaste with fruity and floral hints.

Bacchus grapes are particularly well suited to our High Weald terroir, and produce a fresh, aromatic, crisp white wine. This 2022 vintage shows all the benefits of the long hot summer in the UK last year and is slightly more rounded and nuanced than our previous vintages, with strong aromas of pear and gooseberry on the nose and palate and with a deliciously smooth finish.
