Poulton Hill Estate’s Awkward Hill white wine is pale straw in appearance with a delicious nose of apple blossom and subtle herbaceous undertones. The palate is dry, crisp and wonderfully balanced, bursting with peach, pear and creamy apple, which leads to a long, clean and satisfying finish. This wine is perfect to drink on its own or with pasta dishes, Thai cuisine, seafood and cheese.

Named after the Arlington cottages in Bibury, this delicious red wine was handpicked and produced by the multi-award winning Poulton Hill Vineyard.
Deep ruby in appearance, with a beautiful nose of cherry, blackberry and hints of strawberry. The palate is medium bodied, bursting with English red berries, further dark cherry and damson at the forefront. Subtle oak and soft tannin make for a wonderfully well-balanced finish.

This Pinot Noir offers enticing aromas of black cherry, plum jam, roasted coffee beans, and spice. On the palate, a rich blend of raspberry, red currant, and ripe plum is complemented by subtle vanilla notes. Only a few English Sauvignon Blancs pass muster with me, and Missing Gate has shot into contention with its delightful, bright, and refreshing character. While the nose and palate are open and citrusy, the superb mid-palate depth and raspy, chalky finish remind me of top-flight Menetou-Salon! The extra dimension of fruit, adding gravitas to the core, is remarkable, and this comes from 80% of the wine being fermented in neutral 500L barrels with 20% going through malolactic fermentation and further lees ageing. These considered techniques add invaluable texture, making this wine complete. It is a glimpse of the future for this grape variety in the UK.

A pale onion skin crossed with white peach threaded with a persistent, fine mousse.
The nose shows ripe red berry fruits - wild strawberry and cherries - overlaid with heady summer florals all held in a soft and bready frame. The addition of the 2015 and 2016 reserve wines bring a further layer of complexity with toasted nuts and sweet spice.
Thanks to the long lees ageing it is rich and round on the palate, with notes of raspberry, cranberry and redcurrant held in a delightful creaminess, but the fresh acidity provides the perfect balance and leads to a refreshing but persistent and luxurious finish.
