Ridgeview Oak Reserve (6 Bottles) Ditchling Common, East Sussex, England

The late-disgorged sibling to our original Oak Reserve. Extended lees ageing has mellowed and integrated the oak element, while enhancing complexity. A captivating wine, delivering both luxury and impeccable precision.
Small parcels of our home vineyard Chardonnay were carefully selected across three exceptional vintages and gently pressed in whole bunches. Predominantly barrel fermented in a combination of old and new, toasted
Burgundy and Loire oak barrels, a small selection of base wines also underwent malolactic conversion. Following secondary bottle fermentation in our naturally cool, underground cellars, our second-release Oak Reserve then spent 60 months on lees before disgorging, with six months on cork to complete its journey.

A lightly oaked chardonnay blend, dry with a round palate of pear, peach, yellow apple, and citrus fruit. Creamy, butterscotch notes with a good use of light oak showing vanilla and toast, adding structure and complexity. This is a voluptuous wine with a rich long finish. Minerva Wine is known for its distinctive flavour profile, which is attributed to the rare geology of the Mendip Hills where the grapes are grown. The geothermal heating that occurs when rainwater falls on the Carboniferous Limestone outcrop in the Mendip Hills gives the wines their unique flavour.
