Star bright, rich and golden in colour with a straw hue. Very fine consistent bubbles.
Generous and inviting aromas of fresh pastry, red apple, with hints of fresh apricot, opulent buttery baked apple and raisin strudel.
A harmony of flavours including baked red apple, lightly stewed summer fruits and rich butter that give the wine remarkable weight and structure. The edges of the profile are filled with stone fruits that lead to a morish finish of toast and sweet pastry.
Opulent in style, this wine can pair well with richer dishes, such as game and meaty white fish like Turbot as well as whole Crab and Lobster.

Kerner (a relative of Riesling) is the pride and joy of Astley Vineyard. As is typical with this variety, this older vintage has suddenly come into its own. An intruiging wine for wine enthusiasts and dinners.

This vintage of Kerner has been on an upward trajectory ever since we first tasted it in 2018. Displaying the richer, aromatic, and honestly more intruiging side of Kerner, it has a bouquet of sweet white flowers, aromatic orchard fruits, with a nicely balanced sweetness. Pair with pork & cider casserole, coconut curries, and other aromatic dishes. Made by Three Choirs.

Named after the German poet after which the grape variety was named, Justinius Kerner is a special edition of "Kerner". Aromatic, intense & delicious.
Made of: 100% Kerner (97% of a single tank, 2% Barrel fermented)
Tastes of: Rhubarb & Ginger compote, Apple, Quince, Ginger
Sweetness: Dry
Acidity: High, Slightly spritzy
2022 produced the ripest Kerner our vineyard has ever produced. Coming in naturally at 12.8% Abv (remembering this is a relative of Riesling), there was an intensity & complexity to this variety that we have never experienced. Spritzy and refreshing, it displays vivid flavours of rhubarb & ginger compote, with a savoury, nutty background. A fantastic aperitif, or paired with pork, fatty fish, or Japanese cuisine. A once in a decade vintage.

This Ditchling Red is 100% Pinot Noir, light fruity style, has aged in old French barrels for 6 months. This aromatised wine is our Dorset answer to “blush” wine or dessert in a glass! The rosé base wine is Dorset grown Regent grapes. We bump up the ABV of these wines by fortifying with a small amount of our wine based distilled spirit. We then blend with all natural extracts and pure sugar cane. Because of the slight fortification of this wine, it has a longer shelf life once opened. We recommend a bottle of our aromatised wine can stay open in the fridge for up to 2 weeks – but we don’t expect it to last that long! This amazingly flavorful, slightly sweetened wine is best served chilled, but can be enjoyed just under room temp as well. You can serve it in a pitcher with ice and garnish with fruit, or pour into a glass over ice and top with something fizzy. It’s so fruity, yet complex, it will pair with a surprising amount of savory and spicy foods!

The skin fermented method applied to such aromatic varietals results in a wine with super powerful aromas of grapefruit, grass and tropical fruit. The palate is dry and crisp with soft tannins and a long citrussy finish. A very food friendly wine!
Winemaker's Notes: Not your typical white wine, a wine for the lovers of 'orange wines'. Small parcels of very ripe and rare (in England) Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat grapes were fermented on skins in the same way as you would a red wine for 7 days before being pressed. Only 500 bottles produced.
