Palacios Remondo La Montesa Crianza 2021 (6 Bottles) Rioja, Spain
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
Palacios Remondo is a family-owned winery based in Alfaro, in Rioja Oriental, the warmest and most easterly part of the Rioja appellation. The soils here are silty and alluvial and the semi-arid Mediterranean climate is well-suited to growing Garnacha, a variety that is finally coming back into the foreground in this region, after decades of being supplanted by the more popular Tempranillo.
This wine is the epitome of Garnacha of the region, plump and generous, with layers of red fruit, subtle spicing and lively freshness. A very long, complete finish, with a savoury sign off to balance.
14% ABV, Organic.
Dedham Vale Colchester Oyster White Blend 2019 (6 Bottles) Colchester, Essex, England
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
For several years now our Orion, Reichensteiner and Phoenix have been expertly blended to produce the perfect English dry white wine. It is delightfully light on the palate with aromas of melon and grapefruit, with hints of kumquat and citrus.
Colchester Oyster was conceived to be the ideal complement for a wide variety of seafood and shellfish dishes, and while it has definitely achieved that aim, over the years it has also gained a following from our customers and remains one of our most popular white wines today.
Astley Freya Sparkling Sec (6 Bottles) Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, England
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
Freya is our delightfully drinkable sparkling wine. Made entirely from Kerner, this semi-sweet (13g/L), fruity sparkling wine is made for drinking with friends, or sharing at parties. Consistently a best seller, and always one of our favourite wines.
Made of: 100% Kerner
Tastes of: Ripe apple & shortbread
Sweetness: Semi sweet (13g/L - "Sec")
Acidity: High
Time on lees: 65 months/5 years
Disgorged: November 2024
Freya is a fun alternative to traditional sparkling wines. The joyous, but not sickly amount of residual sugar balances nicely against the naturally high acidity of Kerner. Interestingly, the residual sugar in this vintage is the result of the secondary fermentation (consistently) not finishing. The result is a fantastic, but casual sparkling wine that makes a great gift, or a delicious pairing with fruity desserts.

The aroma captivates with biscuit, ripe summer berries, and a hint of green apple skins. The palate bursts with ripe British summer berries, refreshing acidity, and a slightly zesty finish, lingering memorably.

Sandridge Barton Don’t Feed the Ponies Furze 2021 (6 Bottles) Stoke Gabriel, Devon, England
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
A rich and oxidative wine made with 60% skin contact and barrel matured Pinot Gris and 40% Madeleine Angevine matured in stainless steel. After one year the wines were blended where they matured for a further 24 months in old French oak barrels with some under a flor. The resulting wine has baked apple, bruised apricot and nutty characteristics with good weight, balance and grip.
This wine is part of our new Don't Feed The Ponies range of more experimental wines, a reference to a campaign on Dartmoor National Park to discourage visitors from feeding the wild horses that roam there. The source of the River Dart begins way up in the heart of the moors, and it's the river that influences how our grapes grow. For every bottle purchased from this range, we'll donate 25p to the Dartmoor Preservation Association to preserve the natural habitat.
