Sandridge Barton Don’t Feed the Ponies Figgie Daniel 2022 (6 Bottles) Stoke Gabriel, Devon, England
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
An energetic wine with a lively spritz. This wine is unfiltered and unfined and contains the lees in the bottle. Col Fondo means 'with the bottom' in Italian, referring to the leftover lees sediment. This is the method in which Prosecco was produced before being overly commercialised but is now regaining popularity.
This wine is light and spritzy with green apple, lemon rind, elderflower and yeasty characters. We recommend a gentle shake before serving to distribute the sediment.
This wine is part of our new Don't Feed The Ponies range of more experimental wines, a reference to a campaign on Dartmoor National Park to discourage visitors from feeding the wild horses that roam there. The source of the River Dart begins way up in the heart of the moors, and it's the river that influences how our grapes grow. For every bottle purchased from this range, we'll donate 25p to the Dartmoor Preservation Association to preserve the natural habitat.

Anthonij Rupert Wyne was founded on the farm, L’Ormarins in Franschhoek. The portfolio is made up of L’Ormarins from Franschhoek, Rooderust from Darling, Riebeeksrivier from the Swartland and Altima from isolated Elandskloof. Each site offers optimum varietal specific growing conditions, allowing Anthonij Rupert Wyne to adhere to the requirements of their different brands.
The wine presents a beautiful, delicate salmon pink hue. The nose is enticing, with charming aromas of raspberry and strawberry, complemented by a hint of peppery spice. On the palate, lively bubbles bring bright red berry flavours and a crisp acidity. Rich, creamy lees notes and toasted biscuit flavours from the secondary fermentation in the bottle add balance and depth.
