Col Fondo is a traditional Italian natural re-fermentation process in bottle: ‘Con il fondo’ translates literally to ‘with the bottom’ meaning sediment or lees is present; so if this bottle has been travelling we suggest you stand it up on it’s bottom in the fridge to rest a while before opening.

Under the leadership of Chief Winemaker Jeremy McKenzie, the winery continues to build its reputation for award winning Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir but is also producing world class Chardonnay. Recognised and awarded, the estate has won. All fruit is estate grown from the 54 hectares of vines, most of which are now organic.

This Chardonnay is a powerful and complex wine displaying notes of gunsmoke, white peach, and nectarine, with hints of lemon and lime. The palate shows roasted almond and brioche notes with an underlying grapefruit citrus note giving the wine length and vibrancy. Mineral. Oatley Leonora’s 2018 (6 Bottles) Bridgwater, Somerset, England

£114.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

Lemons, limes and grapefruit with some minerality on the palate. Dry and complex.

Made with the rare Kernling grape, a variety related to Reisling and shares it's aging potential. Our Leonora's wines happily age for more than 10 years, developing honey and orange blossom.

The 2018 vintage is dry, complex and starting to develop the classic "petrol" aromas associated with good Reisling and the lemon/lime is evolving into pink grapefruit. Pairs well with anything you would squeeze lemon on (oysters, perhaps?).
