In addition to working with his wife Núria Altés on their ambitious joint project in Terra Alta, Herència Altés, Rafael De Haan has spent the last 10 years sourcing wines across Spain for his excellent négociant business, Bodegas Abanico. In the process he fell in love with the diverstiy of Spanish terroir, especially some lesser-known appellations and unusual varietals. This inspired him to launch the De Haan Altés Custom Cuvées project; Rafael partners with local winemakers he has known for years to craft unique, exceptionally-made cuvees that are the ultimate expressions of their respective terroirs.
Straw colour with a steely green rim. Bright and clean. Varied aromas, fruit and citrus predominating, apple and stone-fruit hints, with some flower notes. Tasty and well-structured in the mouth. Intense aftertaste with fruity and floral hints.

Smooth, lightly oaked & food-friendly dry white wine from 100% Pinot Blanc.
This well-rounded dry wine has aromas of pear with floral notes of lilac and jasmine and a hint of toastiness from a short time in oak. On the palate, it is plump and centred with a fresh finish.
A smooth texture and a long finish makes this Pinot Blanc a versatile wine for food pairing. Try a glass with roast chicken, mild cheeses, creamy pasta sauces and rich egg dishes like quiche lorraine. This dry English wine comes from grapes that grow at a property Melbury Vale co-manages locally. The breakdown is about 80% Bacchus grapes, with the remaining 20% coming from a traditionally German variety called Reichensteiner. Both varieties of white grapes ripen very well in the cool Dorset climate, producing crisp approachable dry wines. Reichensteiner is a light, floral grape that is perfect for blending. Bacchus is well known as the “Sauvignon Blanc of the UK” so we know Sauvignon Blanc lovers, or lovers of any refreshing, dry white wines will love our Elegance. On the nose we get bright grapefruit and elderflower aromas, on the palate we also have notes pink grapefruit accompanied by undertones of white peach and fresh herbs.
Food Pairings: one of the only wines out there that is a spectacular pairing for spring asparagus, but is also a perfect compliment to all fresh vegetable dishes.

Isabel Estate is one of the original Marlborough vineyards with some of the oldest vines in the region on original rootstock. Throughout the 1980s the couple planted key noble varietals and began to deliver fruit of exceptional quality, in high demand from premium and internationally renowned wine producers. Under the leadership of Chief Winemaker Jeremy McKenzie, the winery continues to build its reputation for award winning Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir but is also producing world class Chardonnay. Recognised and awarded, the estate has won. All fruit is estate grown from the 54 hectares of vines, most of which are now organic.
