Carr Taylor Ortega (6 Bottles), Hastings, East Sussex, England

Ortega is an early ripening variety for the UK, which allows us to leave the grapes hanging on the vine as long as possible to achieve the optimum balance of fruit and acid. Missing Gate Sauvignon Blanc 2022 (6 Bottles) Chelmsford, Hampshire, England
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
Only a few English Sauvignon Blancs pass muster with me, and Missing Gate has shot into contention with its delightful, bright, and refreshing character. While the nose and palate are open and citrusy, the superb mid-palate depth and raspy, chalky finish remind me of top-flight Menetou-Salon! The extra dimension of fruit, adding gravitas to the core, is remarkable, and this comes from 80% of the wine being fermented in neutral 500L barrels with 20% going through malolactic fermentation and further lees ageing. These considered techniques add invaluable texture, making this wine complete. It is a glimpse of the future for this grape variety in the UK.
Ridgeview Cavendish NV (6 Bottles) Ditchling Common, East Sussex, England

The UK Government's most-poured sparkling wine in 2024.
A traditional blend with expressive red berry and almond aromas. Elegantly balanced with notes of raspberry frangipane and bergamot orange. A deliciously foodie wine.
The nose is expressive with hints of red fruits. The Pinot dominance brings depth and complexity to the palate with a long-lasting finish, whilst the Chardonnay adds finesse and freshness.

Sandridge Barton Don’t Feed the Ponies Tipley Hill 2021 (6 Bottles) Stoke Gabriel, Devon, England
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
A more full-bodied style with lemon rind, elderflower, toasted pine and yoghurt aromas. The palate is rounded and full with soft oak tannin, more rich yellow fruits and a touch of oak spice. 100% whole-bunch-pressed Madeleine Angevine that was spontaneously fermented in stainless steel and then matured in both steel and old French oak for 9 months before being bottled with no filtration.
This wine is part of our new Don't Feed The Ponies range of more experimental wines, a reference to a campaign on Dartmoor National Park to discourage visitors from feeding the wild horses that roam there. The source of the River Dart begins way up in the heart of the moors, and it's the river that influences how our grapes grow. For every bottle purchased from this range, we'll donate 25p to the Dartmoor Preservation Association to preserve the natural habitat.
