Sourced exclusively from the estate’s oldest Chardonnay vines during the 2015 vintage, the BBB was fermented, kept and stirred in barrels over three years to better understand the effect that longer oak ageing would have on English sparkling wine.

Tasting note In the glass, this is light straw in colour with a delicate mousse. On the nose, this has strawberry, peach, and peach melba notes. Our Ortega is a delicate, precisely made wine, which has been produced using a combination of natural and selected yeasts. This year’s vintage showcases everything we love about Ortega as a variety - a nose of tropical fruit and on the palate a herbal, saline finish.
Winemaker Adrian Pike explains "We were really proud of what we released last year, but quite simply, the 2023 vintage gave us riper fruit and that’s given all our releases a little more brightness and concentration of flavours, still with all the classic Westwell characteristics."
Westwell Ortega 2023 pairs perfectly with poultry, shellfish, soft cheeses and is also great on its own.
