Domaine Jean Foillard Morgon Cuvée Classique 2022 (6 Bottles) Beaujolais, France

Domaine Jean Foillard wines enjoy cult-like status. Early on, Jean began to follow the teachings of Jules Chauvet, a traditionalist who defied everything that the more commercial brands were touting in the region. Jean and three other local vignerons, Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul Thévenet, and Guy Breton, soon joined in on the movement. The wines are a true and natural expression of Morgon with access to the very best vineyards in one of the most renowned areas of the appellation, the ‘Côtes du Py’, and 60-year-old vines, Jean`s wines are full of life and character and show incredible depth and purity.
The Morgon Cuvee Classique is ruby red with a robust nose of complex red and black fruit aroma, as well as earthy notes. On the palate, it is similarly layered. sour cherry, black plum, dried flower and leather, with great depth and a lengthy finish. This is a lighter style of wine that nevertheless offers wonderful complexity and depth.

The Cape Mentelle journey is a true labour of love, born from humble beginnings in 1970 with just sixteen hectares of vines. Fast forward to today, and this iconic winery has carefully crafted each blend to showcase the unique characteristics of its terroir, resulting in wines that are both complex and approachable.
This stunning blend is a masterclass in harmony, with Cabernet Sauvignon taking centre stage and showcasing its signature dark fruits, bright cassis, and subtle hints of dried herbs.
The Merlot, meanwhile, brings a subtle yet luxurious touch, adding plush blue fruits and warmth to the mix. As the flavours meld together, the wine is beautifully supported by supple tannins and neatly integrated oak, creating a wonderful taste experience.

Nestled in the rain shadow of the Czech-Moravian Highlands, in the Znojmo sub-region of Moravia, sits Thaya. Winemaker Jakub Smrčka has been building the name for himself and for Thaya over these last few years. Having produced his first vintage in 2011, when he was only 20 years old, he came to Thaya passionate about the terroir of his homeland, his rule is simple yet bold: each vintage must be a little better than the previous one.
This Veltliner, crafted from granite bedrock, showcases a vibrant, greenish hue with golden highlights. The aroma is true to the variety, with prominent notes of citrus peel and white pepper. On the palate, the flavour mirrors the nose, balanced by a refreshing, juicy acidity. The wine has a long-lasting finish that invites continued enjoyment.

The Hanwell Classic is pale gold in colour with delicate, long-lasting bubbles. The beautifully complex bouquet combines aromas of green apples with fresh lemon and delicate toasted notes from ageing for 15 months on the lees in bottle. Anthonij Rupert Wyne was founded on the farm, L’Ormarins in Franschhoek. Originally owned by the late Anthonij Rupert, who passed away in 2001, the farm was eventually taken over by his brother Johann Rupert in 2003 and the brand named after him. It was Johann Rupert who constructed a state-of-theart winemaking facility, catapulting the farm into a prestigious wine estate. The focus is on terroir specific wines and therefore it would seem obvious that the brand is made up of an impressive portfolio of farms representing the best in grape producing locations. The portfolio is made up of L’Ormarins from Franschhoek, Rooderust from Darling, Riebeeksrivier from the Swartland and Altima from isolated Elandskloof. Each site offers optimum varietal specific growing conditions, allowing Anthonij Rupert Wyne to adhere to the requirements of their different brands.
The nose is warm and inviting, with aromas of fruitcake, blackberries, subtle spice, oak, and a hint of dark chocolate. The same approachable charm carries through to the palate, offering a delightful blend of red and black fruits like plum, mulberry, and soft Agen prune, complemented by notes of Christmas cake and gentle spice. This wine feels as comforting as a favourite pair of slippers, yet it boasts a solid structure that supports the fruit, with oak and tannins seamlessly integrated for a balanced, succulent ripeness. A deeper layer of dark chocolate and cocoa adds depth, lifting the wine beyond the ordinary.

Rowtown Pink Pinot Noir Précoce 2022 (6 Bottles) Rowtown, Shropshire, England

This variety thrives on our red sandy soils, and makes up 27% or our 5 acre Shropshire vineyard.
After an excellent summer, we were able to really ripen a portion of our Pinot Noir Précoce grapes, resulting in this balanced red wine. The black cherry fruit character is complemented by some structured oak and subtle silky tannins. Classically English and terribly moreish!
