2018 White Pinot is made from gently handled Pinot Noir which avoids the colour of the skins. The wine was matured in two to five year old French oak barriques for 12 months prior to bottling in December 2020. Pale straw in colour with evident peach , rose petal and honeysuckle on the nose this complex wine displays a fullness rare amongst English wines. Rich and silky in texture, and balanced with a steely backbone of acidity this complex wine, drinking well at the time of release, will continue to mature with grace in the years ahead.

El Convertido is based in the central Spanish region Castilla‑La Mancha, known as one of Spain’s largest and most important wine-producing areas. Its vineyards lie on the central plateau (the Meseta Central), a wide, relatively flat region at moderate altitude with hot summers and cold winters — ideal conditions for the varieties grown there. Domaine Chignard farms 8 hectares of old vines in Fleurie, situated at the top of the hill sloping down to Moulin-àVent on pure granitic soils. The wines are elegant but serious and concentrated expressions of the terroir, none more so than the ‘Les Moriers’ lieu-dit. Cédric is following in his father’s footsteps and continuing the traditional Beaujolais way of farming and winemaking.
Bright, focused, and energetic, the fruit-filled Fleurie "Les Moriers" reflects its outstanding terroir with good concentration and a superb depth not usually found in the wines of Fleurie. It's very lush and vivid, tasting generous and fluid with great vibrancy The vines average 80 years old and 'Les Moriers' has been known as one of the legendary vineyards of the Beaujolais for a few hundred years and this is it's best example.
