Kerner (a relative of Riesling) is the pride and joy of Astley Vineyard. As is typical with this variety, this older vintage has suddenly come into its own. An intruiging wine for wine enthusiasts and dinners.

This vintage of Kerner has been on an upward trajectory ever since we first tasted it in 2018. Displaying the richer, aromatic, and honestly more intruiging side of Kerner, it has a bouquet of sweet white flowers, aromatic orchard fruits, with a nicely balanced sweetness. Inversion 2020 is a limited-edition Blanc de Noir, with only 1,939 bottles produced. Crafted from 83% Pinot Noir and 17% Pinot Meunier, this wine showcases the best of the Upper Levels vineyard, where the unique terroir lends complexity and depth to the blend. Dominated by the robust Pinot Noir 777 clone (67% of the blend), it is complemented by clones 386, 521, and 817, each contributing to its layered profile.
The wine’s character is shaped by a careful balance of 97% stainless steel aging and 3% maturation in 5-year-old Burgundian barrels, enhancing its finesse. Burgundy yeast Spark amplifies the aromatics, while a non-interventionist approach—eschewing malolactic fermentation and fining—ensures the wine expresses its true varietal essence.
On the nose, Inversion bursts with vibrant red fruit aromas, underpinned by subtle hints of spice and earthiness. The palate delivers a powerful and expressive profile, brimming with red berries, yet refined with a distinctive “grown-up” edge. A backbone of vibrant acidity cleanses the palate, creating a clean and satisfying finish.

The Cape Mentelle journey is a true labour of love, born from humble beginnings in 1970 with just sixteen hectares of vines. This wine is a crafted blend of flavours and textures, showcasing the best of Margaret River Shiraz. This 16 Hectares Shiraz is a medium-bodied delight, with a rich array of dark fruit flavours, including red cherry, blackberry, and spiced plum. Minerva Wine is known for its distinctive flavour profile, which is attributed to the rare geology of the Mendip Hills where the grapes are grown. The geothermal heating that occurs when rainwater falls on the Carboniferous Limestone outcrop in the Mendip Hills gives the wines their unique flavour.

The wine presents a clear deep ruby colour with rich aromas of blackcurrant and morello cherries with hints of vanilla, prunes, and spice - pepper, coriander and cloves and a smokiness reminiscent of lapsang southong tea.

Núria Altés is a native of Batea, Terra Alta, and her family have been growers for generations. A proud Catalan, Núria is deeply immersed in the history of the region and will gladly recount the stories of her beloved land over a glass of Garnatxa Negra. She worked in local wineries before forming a partnership with her English husband, Rafael De Haan, to start Herència Altés, a project proudly carrying her family`s name in tribute to their work in the vineyards of Terra Alta over many generations.
Light and bright colour with golden reflections. Very expressive nose that awakens aromas of citrus, fruit and Mediterranean herbs. In the mouth it is very fresh, with a vibrant acidity, and very elegant.

Flint Vineyard Pinot Noir Précoce 2023 (6 Bottles) Bungay, Norfolk, England

Silky smooth and fruity on the palate with integrated tannins leaving a textured finish. The wine has not been cold stabilised and might throw a small crystalline deposit. This is harmless and demonstrates its minimal handling.
An early ripening clone of Pinot Noir that was hand harvested in October from our own small parcel and Martin’s Lane vineyard in Essex.
50% semi-carbonic maceration using a fruit-forward yeast strain and 50% crushed fruit using a classic Burgundian yeast.
