The Cape Mentelle journey is a true labour of love, born from humble beginnings in 1970 with just sixteen hectares of vines. Fast forward to today, and this iconic winery has carefully crafted each blend to showcase the unique characteristics of its terroir, resulting in wines that are both complex and approachable.
This wine is a symphony of citrus and tropical flavours, bursting with energy and vibrancy. The nose is a riot of yellow grapefruit pith, green mango, and crushed lime leaf. On the palate, the flavours explode in a juicy mix of green melon, passionfruit, and guava, perfectly balanced by a succulent citrus acidity that leaves you wanting more. 2020 was a year like no other, whilst everyone was locked down at home, we were incredibly lucky to be able to get out into the vineyard and do what we do. With a local army of freshly recruited (furloughed) vineyard workers, we negotiated our way through a season that produced a small, very ripe and incredibly concentrated crop of fruit, most notably expressed in this opulent and fruit forward edition of our much loved Rosé. Even though the blend and process is exactly the same as previous wines, there is something different about this one, a purity, softness and elegance that makes the wine simply glide across the palate. We can’t wait to see how it develops over the years, but this really will be a hard one to keep.

Sourced exclusively from the estate’s oldest Chardonnay vines during the 2015 vintage, the BBB was fermented, kept and stirred in barrels over three years to better understand the effect that longer oak ageing would have on English sparkling wine.

Aged following an oxidative ageing for 12 years in Bodega La Campana in Jerez de la Frontera. Dark bronze colour with golden rim. Pungent nutty aromas with a smoky wood background. Rich flavours of bitter chocolate, walnuts and baked chestnuts. This Oloroso wine has an intense, concentrated aftertaste, lightened by a tangy acidity.
