A stark contrast to our core pinot noir, Nightjar, both in style and character, “Trouble Every Day” is made from a single pinot noir clone chosen for its exceptional flavour and structure. The grapes were hand picked and sorted in the vineyard and transported to our Battersea winery. Fermented naturally in small open top fermenters and aged in Burgundy oak barrels.
The wine expresses autumnal fruits, such as blackberry, bramble, black cherries and intense spice notes. The wine is refined, yet has crunchy tannins and length. Unfined and unfiltered.

Partial ageing in oak followed by 42 months on lees gave the 2017 vintage a concentrated, textured palate of red apple, brioche and umami... Our Ortega is made hand-picked grapes, harvested early October, the Ortega grapes from Kent started fermenting in our winery on the 6th of October. The pale yellow juice aged in a stainless steel tank and in a 3rd vintage oak barrel from Burgundy, before being bottled in May 2024. The wine is unfiltered, unfined and vegan friendly.
This white wine starts with a floral and citrus nose. The palate has flavours of peach, citrus and flowers leading to a long finish.
Merstone Ortega pairs perfectly with seafood, fish and chicken dishes or can be enjoyed on its own.
