Coolhurst Ktima Gerovassiliou Malagousia (6 Bottles) Horsham, West Sussex, England via Greece

NECTAR FROM A DIFFERENT HECTARE
This very fine bottle of white wine comes from the exceptional Ktima Gerovassiliou, who are veritable magicians. It is important to know that, in a market now well represented by the indigenous Malagousia varietal, this estate was responsible for rescuing said grape from extinction in 1981. This baby is the benchmark of the varietal and comes from immaculate 74 acre slopes in Epanomi.
It’s all in here; white pear, mango and lemon zest on the nose and a mouthful of refreshing fruit with a hint of mountain herbs underpinned by a delicious flinty, mineral backbone. Obviously this is a natural partner to Greek and Mediterranean food but it has the kahunas to stand up to Thai spice too. If you like Sauvignon Blanc or Bacchus you’re going to love this.

Establishing itself as one of the UK 'signature varietals', Madeleine is a very distinctive early ripening grape with a thin skin and a very floral, delicate character. It grows with great exuberance here and often overcrops.
A light and delicate bouquet with a refreshing burst of zingy lemon on the palate followed by distinctive elderflower. A dry and refreshing still white, offering depth and a smooth minerality but balanced with crisp acidity on the palate.

The wine presents a clear deep ruby colour with rich aromas of blackcurrant and morello cherries with hints of vanilla, prunes, and spice - pepper, coriander and cloves and a smokiness reminiscent of lapsang southong tea.
The wine is medium bodied with moderate tannins with smooth, subtle tannins and with notable freshness with a long finish.
This wine pairs well with duck, beef bourguignon, roasted chicken, hard cheese ans South Asian dishes.

Our Kombucha is brewed and barrel-fermented in our nano brewery situated on Nania’s Vineyard in central Bristol, we have perfected a can-conditioning process and hand-can our kombucha in small batches. We make an authentic kombucha that is RAW and alive inside. It’s very much the real deal and we’re so confident in the provenance of our brew that we offer a S.C.O.B.Y guarantee. Domaine Jean Foillard wines enjoy cult-like status. Early on, Jean began to follow the teachings of Jules Chauvet, a traditionalist who defied everything that the more commercial brands were touting in the region. Jean and three other local vignerons, Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul Thévenet, and Guy Breton, soon joined in on the movement. The wines are a true and natural expression of Morgon with access to the very best vineyards in one of the most renowned areas of the appellation, the ‘Côtes du Py’, and 60-year-old vines, Jean`s wines are full of life and character and show incredible depth and purity.
The Morgon Cuvee Classique is ruby red with a robust nose of complex red and black fruit aroma, as well as earthy notes. On the palate, it is similarly layered. sour cherry, black plum, dried flower and leather, with great depth and a lengthy finish. This is a lighter style of wine that nevertheless offers wonderful complexity and depth.

Winemaker's Notes: A dry, crisp and delicate rosé. The Pinot noir used to make this rosé was crushed and cold macerated for 14 hours to extract both colour and body. It then underwent fermentation 35% in American oak the remainder in stainless steel tank.
