This Bacchus is pale gold in appearance, with notes of elderflower and stone fruit on the nose. Peach, pear and guava are at the forefront of the palate, with hints of minerality, giving it a long, clean and crisp finish. Undoubtedly a first for the UK, this bright, but noticeably barrel aged wine combines our unique old Kerner vines with an unusual 100% Acacia barrel. Great with a cheeseboard or white meats.
Made of: 98% Kerner, 2% Madeleine Angevine

The inspiration for our unusual 100% Acacia barrel came from the fact that we grow Kerner. This variety is famously grown in Alto Adige (Alpine Italy) where a traditional practice is fermenting and ageing it in Acacia. Compared to Oak, Acacia is more subtle, and adds flavours of honey & flowers.
For the barrel's first use, we aged our Kerner from 2019 for 3 months, followed by several years in bottle. The result is a mouthwatering but textural wine that tastes of spiced lemon, with a gently woody midpalate. Pair with cheese, white meats, and rich fish dishes.

This is a first release of our 100% organic Chardonnay sparkling wine, made in a similar style to our Limney Estate, without yeast added (primary fermentation), unfiltered and with minimal added sulphur. Cielo e Terra has dual roots in the Veneto region: the Cielo family and the winemakers of the Cantine dei Colli Berici. The Cielo family’s bond with the land dates back to 1908 in the Vicenza countryside, near the Castles of Romeo and Juliet, where the great-grandfather had bought Casa Defrà, a small farm with a vineyard. They enjoy making wines with passion and innovation to create signature versions of traditional Italian wines, looking for the right balance between personality and easy-drinking.
This wine reveals a delicate light pink hue, reflecting its fresh and vibrant character. The bouquet is lively and persistent, offering inviting fruity aromas with notes of pineapple and strawberry. On the palate, it is soft and slightly mineral, delivering a well-rounded, balanced profile. Fruity nuances continue through the finish, which is smooth and enduring, with a gentle aromatic lift that adds finesse.

Coolhurst Côtes de Provence Rosé 2023 (6 Bottles) Horsham, West Sussex, England via Provence

Our elegant rosé is made from a blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah, all grown on the best terroirs of the Côtes de Provence A.O.C.
Our secret blend is made to appeal. The big names in Provence have all gone on the same journey; tightening their wines up and restricting the length of the finish, whereas our recipe is considerably more ‘old school’.
The Cinsault variety gives the wine its softness, with the Grenache providing body and the Syrah giving the roundness of the red fruit which is amplified by our special assemblage.
There is plenty of upfront fruit on the palate giving a huge strawberries and cream mouthful, before drifting towards peaches and pears, finally delivering a lemony edge with incredible length and a moreish finish.

This grape produces dark blue grapes when ripened at the end of October giving the wine a slight blush appearance. By allowing the natural fermentation to extend to 30 months, the Pinot grape makes a very fine sparkling wine having a fruity aroma and spicy flavour. Crisp and dry.

NECTAR FROM A DIFFERENT HECTARE
This heavenly wine is made by one of my fabulous wine-buddies, Roberto Echeverría and the jazzy new label is designed by his English wife Julia who grew up down the road from Coolhurst in Copthorne!
The grapes for this wine are grown in a single vineyard in the Entre Cordilleras area of the Curicó Valley, at an altitude of 243 metres. Situated on the 35th parallel south, between the towering Andes Mountains and the cool Pacific Ocean, the cooling influence of the oceanic breeze allows the grapes to achieve outstanding fruit aromas and exceptional colour concentration. The rows are planted in an east-westerly direction, to maximise the sun’s exposure.
This is an absolute cracker and incredible value for money! This concentrated golden wine has a complex nose of mature peaches, apricots and honey, with notes of quince jam and creamy honeyed flavours enlivened by a good level of acidity. Rich, intense and full bodied, with a long and elegant finish. Serve nice and cold!
