Melbury Vale Vermouth Mist (6 Bottles) Shaftesbury, Dorset, England

This aromatised wine is our Dorset answer to “vermouth”! The white wine base is from our Dorset grown grapes. We bump up the ABV of these wines by fortifying with a small amount of our wine spirit distilled at Melbury Vale. We then blend with all natural extracts and lime syrup. Because of the slight fortification of this wine, it has a longer shelf life once opened. We recommend a bottle of our aromatised wine can stay open in the fridge for up to 2 weeks – but we don’t expect it to last that long! This amazingly zingy and refreshing wine is best served really chilled. You can serve it in a pitcher with ice and garnish with fresh mint, or pour into a glass over ice with Gin to create a Gin Mist! It’s so refreshing it is perfect with salty snacks as an aperitif!

This 2023 vintage shows all the benefits of the long hot summer in the UK last year and is slightly more rounded and nuanced than our previous vintages, with strong aromas of pear and gooseberry on the nose and palate and with a deliciously smooth finish. Freya is a fun alternative to traditional sparkling wines. The joyous, but not sickly amount of residual sugar balances nicely against the naturally high acidity of Kerner. Interestingly, the residual sugar in this vintage is the result of the secondary fermentation (consistently) not finishing. The result is a fantastic, but casual sparkling wine that makes a great gift, or a delicious pairing with fruity desserts.

Llanerch Estate's Solaris Dry White is a testament to the virtues of the Solaris grape, an early-ripening hybrid known for its robust characteristics and minimal need for intervention. While not officially organic, this wine comes remarkably close, thanks to the grape's natural disease resistance.
The nose is a vibrant symphony of zesty limes and lemons, intertwined with the crisp scent of green gooseberries, all underpinned by fresh, clean undertones. On the palate, it reveals a lively high acidity, reminiscent of crunchy Granny Smith apples and a burst of lime zest.

Rich, ripe red made from Pinot Précoce and Pinot Noir grapes. Smoky mulberries and black cherries on the nose with an explosion of creamy dark fruits on the palate. Very long and moreish wine which has good structure and depth. Toasted vanilla oak flavours linger on the palate. This would pair well with duck or pheasant dishes and a good soft gooey cheese.
