Albarino was planted by the Nicholas family here in Kent after many holidays in Galicia in Spain. In warm years such as 2022 is ripens with a high natural acidity and beautifully lean style which cannot be made anywhere else. Chapel Down were the first winemaker to produce an English Albariño.

The Verhaeghe family have been making wine in the Lot since the 1950s. Today it is Pascal and Jean-Marc in charge of the domaine, which is certified organic. Nestled in the rain shadow of the Czech-Moravian Highlands, in the Znojmo sub-region of Moravia, sits Thaya. Winemaker Jakub Smrčka has been building the name for himself and for Thaya over these last few years. Having produced his first vintage in 2011, when he was only 20 years old, he came to Thaya passionate about the terroir of his homeland, his rule is simple yet bold: each vintage must be a little better than the previous one.
The wine presents a golden yellow hue and offers a wide array of aromas, including hints of baked bread crust and ripe yellow fruits, with a subtle note of honeycomb. On the palate, it is harmonious and mineral, showcasing a delicate touch of barrel ageing that adds depth to its flavour profile.
