To build texture and complexity the Estate Bacchus was 82% fermented in stainless steel and 18% in neutral Burgundy barrels with periodic lees stirring. Nestled in the rain shadow of the Czech-Moravian Highlands, in the Znojmo sub-region of Moravia, sits Thaya. Winemaker Jakub Smrčka has been building the name for himself and for Thaya over these last few years. Having produced his first vintage in 2011, when he was only 20 years old, he came to Thaya passionate about the terroir of his homeland, his rule is simple yet bold: each vintage must be a little better than the previous one.
This Veltliner, crafted from granite bedrock, showcases a vibrant, greenish hue with golden highlights. The aroma is true to the variety, with prominent notes of citrus peel and white pepper. On the palate, the flavour mirrors the nose, balanced by a refreshing, juicy acidity. The wine has a long-lasting finish that invites continued enjoyment.

Monte del Frà Bardolino 2024 (6 Bottles) Veneto, Italy

Monte del Frà (meaning ‘land of the monks’) gets its name from the late 15th century, when a group of Friars formed a monastery on the land. Some hundred years later, the friars leased 25 hectares for the cultivation of vineyards and fruit trees. You can, in fact, still see this document today in the Vienna’s historic library. Fast forward several centuries, and Monte del Frà is now in the very capable hands of the Bonomo family. For over six decades the family have farmed this land, now resting firmly with the third generation; Marica, Silvia and Massimo Bonomo.
Vibrant ruby red colour. Fruity and spicy aromas such as red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, cinnamon, cloves and black pepper. Light body with medium acidity, fruity and spicy the flavours remains true to the nose.
