Owned by the Deniau family, Domaine des Vaublins has been a family winery for several generations. Since 2020 the Domaine is in the hands of the current generation Nicolas and Alexandrine, and together with Cedric Allion they are making some excellent wines under his watchful eye. Their 16 hectares of vines are located on the clay and limestone hillsides on the banks of the river Cher.
This Crémant de Loire is a beautiful pale gold colour with hints of green, creating a delicate and luminous appearance. It has a gentle effervescence that lingers gracefully. The aroma is a delightful blend of fruity notes, complemented by subtle hints of white flowers like honeysuckle and acacia. The skin fermented method applied to such aromatic varietals results in a wine with super powerful aromas of grapefruit, grass and tropical fruit. The palate is dry and crisp with soft tannins and a long citrussy finish. A very food friendly wine!
Winemaker's Notes: Not your typical white wine, a wine for the lovers of 'orange wines'. Small parcels of very ripe and rare (in England) Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat grapes were fermented on skins in the same way as you would a red wine for 7 days before being pressed. Only 500 bottles produced.
