Sandridge Barton Pinot Noir 2022 (6 Bottles) Stoke Gabriel, Devon, England

This distinct Pinot Noir is the follow-up to the 2020 vintage which was awarded the Best Red Wine, Best Still Wine and Best Regional Wine in the UK at the 2023 WineGB awards. Hailing from the flawless 2022 vintage, this follow has already won Gold at the WineGB Awards before it was even released.
2022 was a long, dry and hot summer, with perfect ripening conditions here in our South Devon vineyard, with harvest taking place from mid-September to mid-October. All grapes were hand-picked and bought back to the winery, where we cold macerated them for two days, with 35% whole bunch and the rest crushed and de-stemmed before spontaneously fermenting on skins for 10-days. 35% of the wine was then matured in third and fourth-fill French oak barrels for between 18-24 months and some remained in stainless steel and was bottled without filtration.
The nose has elevated red fruit, wild strawberry, red currant, and cherry with a touch of spice and subtle oak. The palate is bright and concentrated with more red berries, that are then supported with a mouth-watering acidity, soft tannins and a long and complex finish.

New release! This is the latest release of our best-selling Rosé Brut from the successful 2022 vintage. This release is made exactly in exactly the same style - albeit a little lighter in appearance - from a blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir and having spent over 18 months on lees.
Pale salmon in colour with an abundance of fine bubbles, the wine has notes of strawberry, some blood orange, summer citrus freshness with a little creamy nougat on the nose. The freshness continues into the palate with some lightly bready notes and a little some summer fruit salad. Reminiscent of a summer day with the sun going down, this is the perfect aperitif or paired with with light starter dishes. ABV 12%.

This blend replaces our highly successful Ditchling Reserve. Using Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir Précoce, the wine has been longer in reserve and a large proportion has been barrel aged before bottling. Long aging on the lees has ensured a rich, but still fruity balance. Also awarded a gold medal at the 2021 International Wines & Spirits Competition; the judges commented “Stunning nose of honeycomb, bruised apple and brioche – like a fine dessert with apple four ways. Deep ruby in appearance, with a beautiful nose of cherry, blackberry and hints of strawberry. The palate is medium bodied, bursting with English red berries, further dark cherry and damson at the forefront. Subtle oak and soft tannin make for a wonderfully well-balanced finish.

Created from a blend of our best grapes, specially blended to complement Thai Green Curry or other exotic dishes as well as rich creamy chicken plates. An aromatic wine with essences of tropical fruits on the nose, followed by a warm balanced palate bursting with melon, sweet grapefruit and a hint of pineapple. A gentle underlying acidity and minerality sustains a seductive finish.
This is delicious with Turkey and also pairs well with spicier foods like a Thai green curry.
