The 2023 Ortega is made from our oldest organic vines, planted in 1991. It has a mineral earthy style with aromas of yeast and fruit. Ideal with white fish, but also a pleasure to drink on its own.

The Cape Mentelle journey is a true labour of love, born from humble beginnings in 1970 with just sixteen hectares of vines. Fast forward to today, and this iconic winery has carefully crafted each blend to showcase the unique characteristics of its terroir, resulting in wines that are both complex and approachable.
This wine is a crafted blend of flavours and textures, showcasing the best of Margaret River Shiraz. This 16 Hectares Shiraz is a medium-bodied delight, with a rich array of dark fruit flavours, including red cherry, blackberry, and spiced plum. These flavours are beautifully complemented by layers of cedar and warm spice, adding depth and complexity to the wine. With its finely textured tannins and refreshing acidity, this wine is both elegant and refined. The gravelly soils of the Wallcliffe vineyard have imparted a subtle minerality, while the wild-yeast fermentation has added a touch of nuance. This signature vintage wine is our classic blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier aged for a minimum of 24 months on its’ yeast lees. This wine presents aromas of red fruits, buttery brioche and almonds on the nose perfectly balanced with juicy nectarine, baked apples, and our signature flint minerality on the finish.
This food friendly wine would be a perfect partner to smoked fish, roast chicken or creamy risotto dishes.
The Classic Cuvée is our signature style and the one which has accrued the most number of awards for us over the years and what we consider to consistently showcase the Saffron Grange style; fruit-forward, clean with a hint of brioche, great minerality and lovely acidity; a sparkling wine with finesse!

Just five rows of grapes were left to ripen into October and hand-picked by our family. Fermented on their skins, pressed off and partially oaked in a third fill barrel from Tonnellerie de Champagne.
Colour: Medium red colour, crimson
Nose: Dried cherry, 5 spice, earthy, roasted coffee and liquorice
Palate: Sweet fruit entry, medium bodied, silky tanin making for an elegant overall structure. Raspberry and red plum lift give it a long, fragrant finish.

English-grown Bacchus grapes produce aromatic, fresh and crisp wines similar in style to Sauvignon Blanc but with their own distinctive aroma profile.
As is typical of the varietal, our 2022 Bacchus is pale, with a crisp light mouth feel and recogniseable aromatic complexity.
The diversity of aromas can range from herbaceous (tomato leaf, basil, sage, nettle, asparagus, grassy) to citrus (lime zest, lemon, grapefruit) to tropical fruit (medlar, mango, passionfruit) to floral (elderflower, honeysuckle) with the intensity ranging from punchy and intense to more subtle and elegant.
Our style of Bacchus aims for intriguing aromatic complexity and subtle elegance which we believe the 2022 delivers in abundance.
More about the Bacchus grape
The variety originated in Germany in the 1930’s as a cross between Muller-Thurgau and Silvaner x Riesling which has helped contribute to its complex nature. In order to enhance this complexity and build ‘terroir-character’ into our wines we blend multiple unique batches picked on different dates, split into different press fractions and fermented with different yeasts.
Food Match Suggestions: The crisp acidity and freshness makes Bacchus perfect as an appetising aperitif wine. It also pairs beautifully with English asparagus or goats cheese as well as seafood such as dressed shellfish or stronger flavoured salads such as Caesar or rocket.
Ambriel Rosé 2018 (6 Bottles) Pullborough, West Sussex, England

This exquisite rosé is crafted primarily from Pinot Noir clone 777 (98%), complemented by a touch of Pinot Meunier (2%). The 2018 vintage delivered optimal ripeness, resulting in a fruit-forward and robust wine. After 48 months on lees, the rosé boasts complexity and finesse, with a dosage of 8 g/L and an alcohol content of 12%.
Pairing Recommendations: Lamb, charcuterie, or lobster (though not simultaneously).
