On the palate, the wine is rich and indulgent, with flavours of rock melon, pistachio, and lemon curd that are perfectly balanced by a zesty acidity. A race won ‘on the nod’ is thrilling to watch and is so close it is often decided by a photo of the finish. A perfect name for our Bacchus with its crisps, citrus finish. This Bacchus is particularly suited to spring vegetables like asparagus, peas and broad beans, goats cheese, salads without heavy dressings, shellfish and poached or grilled salmon.

Albourne Estate Red Pinot Noir 2019 (6 Bottles) Albourne, West Sussex, England
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
This is our second vintage of Red Pinot Noir and displays a deeper, richer ruby colour and a more complex nose than our 2018 version. This is partly due to the vintage and partly due to increased use of the ‘saignee’ method during winemaking. The nose offers aromas of rich dark berries including black cherries backed by notes of cigarbox, black olives and dark chocolate. On the palate it delivers excellent body for a cool climate Pinot Noir with mature soft tannins, a balanced mouthfeel and a harmonious lingering finish. All of this wine has spent 12 months in a mix of new and old French oak barrels before being bottled by hand, unfined and unfiltered, under cork to allow gentle ageing.
Highly enjoyable with charcuteries cheese and nuts as an aperitif and great with a casserole or barbecued meats and vegetables.

A bold and ripe expression of Pinot Noir from the stellar vintage of 2022. Made from fruit harvested from Burgundian and German clones of Pinot Noir at Flint Vineyard and from Martin's Lane in the Crouch Valley, Essex.
Long standing followers of Flint will know that our popular red, Pinot Noir Précoce is made from an eagerly ripening ‘clone’ of Pinot Noir, but we also planted some special Burgundian ‘clones’ of Pinot Noir on our Brown’s vineyard site.
The Pinot Noir grapes on our own site, some of the oldest vines at Flint, were planted in 2016, this is the first time we’ve picked these grapes for making red wine.
