During the early years, Bodegas Lustau operated as an ‘Almacenista’. The Lustau family began bottling their own sherries and exporting by 1950. In the 1980s they expanded their range and introduced the Almacenista range concept of buying and maturing casks from small bodegas to share excellent quality names and styles with enthusiasts around the world. Bodegas Lustau is considered a world-class benchmark for top-quality wines.
This pale golden-hued vermouth is a blend of carefully selected white wines, fortified with a touch of brandy and infused with a secret blend of botanicals. After the bold, broad, and almost brutish 2018 release, the 2019 is cut from a different cloth. A cooler and less abundant year suited the Pinot considerably better than the Chardonnay.
80% of this wine is fermented using natural wild yeast in a selection of different-sized oak barrels. It certainly has that signature Pinot intensity but is wrapped in an elegant and refined structure that is a hallmark of 2019. For those who remember 2015, this is very similar in structure and a wine that continues to develop a singular identity that makes it stand out from the crowd, no doubt our most complex wine to date.

Founded in 1825, Champagne Joseph Perrier has been owned and run by the same family since 1888. The cellars stretch over three kilometres and date back to the Gallo-Roman period. A brilliant, light-golden yellow hue with delicate copper highlights, offering an elegant visual allure. On the nose, it opens with a refined and subtle bouquet, revealing layers of apples, pears, and white peaches, gradually giving way to more exotic hints of pineapple. The palate is vibrant yet smooth, striking a harmonious balance between complexity, freshness, and body. Floral notes of white blossoms transition gracefully into ripe vine peaches, leading to a crisp, pleasantly tangy finish that lingers with finesse.

Litmus Red Pinot 2022 (6 Bottles) Dorking, Surrey, England

Modern white wines are generally pressed from their skins prior to fermentation. Orange wine is a term given to white wines that have been fermented and aged on their skins.
2022 Litmus Orange is produced from from 100% hand harvested Bacchus. The Bacchus was fermented and remained for six weeks on skins without sulphur dioxide.
Pale gold in colour the wine displays hazelnut, fennel and marzipan characters on the nose. The palate has a touch of Vanilla spice, is incredibly generous and complex and boasts a long broad palate with a gripping astringency and smooth, long finish. Enjoy with oily meats and spicy dishes.
