This vintage of Kerner has been on an upward trajectory ever since we first tasted it in 2018. Displaying the richer, aromatic, and honestly more intruiging side of Kerner, it has a bouquet of sweet white flowers, aromatic orchard fruits, with a nicely balanced sweetness. Heartland Wines is a joint venture from industry veterans and lifelong mates Ben Glaetzer (of Glaetzer Wines fame) and Nick Keukenmeester in Langhorne Creek, South Australia. From its inception in 1999, Heartland’s ethos has been to create wines of balance, texture and a distinctive Australian identity. Sustainability is the cornerstone of Heartland’s approach to viticulture. they encourage plantings of indigenous trees, grasses and bushes, practice rational water management, and eschew chemical treatments in the vineyards. They even have a herd of goats to keep the weeds down.
Vermentino originally hails from Italy's Liguria region and the Mediterranean Island of Sardinia. It has been grown in Langhorne Creek for around 30 years. Langhorne Creek is an ideal location for Vermentino with our maritime conditions. Look for a refreshingly aromatic and bright wine full of citrus, pear and lemon peel. Heartland Vermentino has a sea spray character that the wine is known for, with a mouth-watering, zesty, long finish.

This family-owned boutique winery was founded in 1995 and dedicates itself to the production of super-premium, sites pecific red wine made in small volumes. Originally from Germany, the Glaetzer family settled in Australia in the late 19th century and were some of the earliest recorded viticulturalists in the Barossa Valley and Clare Valley. Today the winery is run by internationally acclaimed winemaker Ben Glaetzer, who is responsible for driving the brand’s considerable loyal following.
Glaetzer Wallace takes on the traditional Barossa Valley blend of Shiraz and Grenache in a modern way. The Shiraz brings backbone, flesh and body to the wine with the Grenache adding a soft, vibrant juiciness. The former will see a bit of oak while the latter remains unoaked to retains freshness. Hints of red currant, clove and spice on the nose. Fresh juiciness on the palate combines with supple tannin and pronounced flavours of liquorice and mulberry. A wine to enjoy in its youth that will also develop additional complexity over 6 to 8 years of cellaring.
