Weingut Von Buhl Bone Dry Riesling 2024 (6 Bottles) Pfalz, Germany
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
With nearly 200 years of winemaking tradition, Von Buhl has played a central role in shaping the quality and reputation of German Riesling. Established by Franz Peter Buhl, a visionary winemaker who quickly earned acclaim for the estate’s wines, it was then passed to his son, Armand von Buhl, who further elevated its reputation. The name ‘Reichsrat’ was added at a later date, in recognition of Armand’s appointment to the German Imperial Council, underscoring the estate’s stature. Von Buhl’s wines were famously served at the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869, a testament to their early prestige. After decades of family ownership, the estate passed through several hands before being revitalised under new leadership in the 21st century, with a renewed commitment to quality and organic farming.
This wine captures the essence of Mittelhaardt, offering vibrant aromas of stone fruit and citrus. On the palate, a refreshing, lively flow is balanced by notable depth and structure, making for an engaging and distinctive drinking experience.

In addition to working with his wife Núria Altés on their ambitious joint project in Terra Alta, Herència Altés, Rafael De Haan has spent the last 10 years sourcing wines across Spain for his excellent négociant business, Bodegas Abanico. Tasting Notes featured in Decanter Magazine:: (November 2023) "A richly textured blanc de blancs from the North Downs, five years on lees. Yeasty mango, pineapple and banana peel on the nose. More rounded yellow fruits on the palate, seasoned with sweet spices and a touch of tannin. The creamy weight is offset by still-vivid freshness. Toasty almonds to finish."
WineGB Tasting Notes: "Deep colour, powerful nose with presence - cashew brioche and fig. A big, dense, textural wine with weight allied to power. Finishes long and fine with toasted nuts, candied lemon and spice."
The sixth release, our 2015 Blanc de Blancs is a standout wine that we are incredibly proud of. Awarded an impressive 93 points by Decanter Magazine, it featured in their November 2023 issue as one of the "Best English Wines to Try This Christmas". The grapes were crushed and destemmed before fermenting. Part of the wine was fermented and aged in used oak barrels with the remainder in stainless steel tanks. Both batches went through malolactic fermentation. It was bottled for secondary fermentation in July 2016 and has matured on lees for 6 years.
