This elegant wine boasts a light straw hue with delicate aromas of lemon zest, orange peel, and honeysuckle. On the palate, green apple and brioche are complemented by a hint of marzipan, culminating in a well-balanced, seamless finish with a fine, persistent mousse.
The 2019 vintage began with abundant sunshine, a record-hot Easter, and a warm, wet summer. Despite challenges, careful vineyard management yielded clean, flavourful grapes. The blend includes 11% barrel-fermented wine and 12% aged reserve wines, with four years on lees for added complexity. Perfect for celebrations, it pairs beautifully with canapés and laughter. This has enough ‘classic chard’ to please traditionalists, but real intrigue via lemon and mountain herb notes to interest the keenest of inquisitive palettes. Berkshire Breeze is the ultimate crowd-pleaser. Made with Madeleine Angevine grapes and natural peach flavour, this refreshing drink perfectly combines the soft, delicious character of ripe peach with a crisp, citrusy profile. The vines at the Pizzolato estate are on pebbly banks of river deposit, which are irrigated by concrete channels that were put in in the 1950s during Italy’s reconstruction post-war. A blend of 60.5% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay and 2.5% Pinot Meunier, made in the Saignée method, this intensely coloured wine is bled off following contact with the skins. Saignée sparkling rosés often have deep colours and powerful, complex flavour profiles.
The nose immediately draws you in, with wild strawberries and macerated red berry flavours that recall the very ripest red berries of the summer. There are also hints of cherry shortbread and winter spice.
