Settimo Pizzolato is the fifth generation of grower at the estate, a man full of charisma and innovative wisdom. The vines at the Pizzolato estate are on pebbly banks of river deposit, which are irrigated by concrete channels that were put in in the 1950s during Italy’s reconstruction post-war. The wines always deliver simple, fresh flavours and they always deliver consistent results, whether you are enjoying them in New York, Tokyo or Seattle.

The Verhaeghe family have been making wine in the Lot since the 1950s. Today it is Pascal and Jean-Marc in charge of the domaine, which is certified organic. A blend of 60.5% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay and 2.5% Pinot Meunier, made in the Saignée method, this intensely coloured wine is bled off following contact with the skins. Saignée sparkling rosés often have deep colours and powerful, complex flavour profiles.
The nose immediately draws you in, with wild strawberries and macerated red berry flavours that recall the very ripest red berries of the summer. There are also hints of cherry shortbread and winter spice.
