A medium-bodied red wine boasting a rich complexity of black fruit flavours, from blackberry crumble and blackcurrant jam, to fresh prune and figs, along with notes of vanilla, smoky cigar box and coffee. Named after the badgers that live in our woods, who try to steal our ripe Regent grapes.

From our parent vineyard – Eglantine Vineyard in Nottinghamshire – this wine is made from the juice of the Morello Cherry.
It has a lovely fruity bouquet, and a rich, well rounded flavour with some sweetness on the palate. A very popular feature of our range, this wine is good as an aperitif, with dessert, mulled or as a long drink with soda or lemonade. Keeps exceptionally well once opened.
Hungerhill Merstone Ortega 2023 (6 Bottles) Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

Our Ortega is made hand-picked grapes, harvested early October, the Ortega grapes from Kent started fermenting in our winery on the 6th of October. The pale yellow juice aged in a stainless steel tank and in a 3rd vintage oak barrel from Burgundy, before being bottled in May 2024. The wine is unfiltered, unfined and vegan friendly.
This white wine starts with a floral and citrus nose. The palate has flavours of peach, citrus and flowers leading to a long finish.
Merstone Ortega pairs perfectly with seafood, fish and chicken dishes or can be enjoyed on its own.

During the early years, Bodegas Lustau operated as an ‘Almacenista’. The Lustau family began bottling their own sherries and exporting by 1950. In the 1980s they expanded their range and introduced the Almacenista range concept of buying and maturing casks from small bodegas to share excellent quality names and styles with enthusiasts around the world. Court Garden Ditchling Pinot Noir (6 Bottles) Ditchling, East Sussex, England

This Ditchling Red is 100% Pinot Noir, light fruity style, has aged in old French barrels for 6 months. A soft and fruity red; smooth acidity and light tannic structure with warming red fruit aromas with lots of blackcurrants, cherry and spice on the palate. Monte del Frà Bardolino Custoza 2024 (6 Bottles) Veneto, Italy

Monte del Frà (meaning ‘land of the monks’) gets its name from the late 15th century, when a group of Friars formed a monastery on the land. Some hundred years later, the friars leased 25 hectares for the cultivation of vineyards and fruit trees. You can, in fact, still see this document today in the Vienna’s historic library. Fast forward several centuries, and Monte del Frà is now in the very capable hands of the Bonomo family. For over six decades the family have farmed this land, now resting firmly with the third generation; Marica, Silvia and Massimo Bonomo.
A lightly aromatic dry white wine. Straw yellow, with pale green highlights. Fruity, white flowers and green apple. Flavour Dry, tangy and well-balanced.

Wine is emotion. And every release of The Trouble with Dreams is emotional.
More than twelve years after what should have been the inaugural vintage of The Trouble with Dreams – from the vineyard that Dermot initially planted to make wine for the monastic order of Catholic priests at Storrington Priory – the 2020 vintage marks a new and significant development we could not be happier about.
The hopes of the 2008 vintage were dashed when virtually all the grapes were devoured overnight by birds ("That's the trouble with dreams", Father Paul McMahon demurred). However, exactly 10 miles west of Storrington a larger site of older vines on extremely chalky ground proffered their second crop... Coldharbour Vineyard has now featured in all of our vintages since 2019, and it's a vineyard that we have farmed ourselves since 2023.
Around a decade ago, the first Trouble with Dreams vintages went on sale – the 2009, 2010, and 2011 rapidly gaining critical acclaim as among the best sparkling wines in the UK. Every subsequent vintage has had big shoes to fill, and we’re delighted to say the 2020 lives up to expectations – while there's still mineral geology at its core, there's a little more richness to the fruit.

Inviting nose with red berry fruit (strawberry and raspberry), quince, nectarine, and delicate floral aromas (white rose petal).
Fresh red berries on the palate alongside crisp red apple give an initially bright attack, with the suggestion of stone fruits giving a slighter rounder feel to the wine. Floral notes linger on the palate giving an elegant finish.
