Dark fruit; dense, smoky, with a cooked-fruit richness. Blackberries and rust. A touch of bacon and sweet pork fat. The tannins are broad, but supple – chestnut skins and gentle friction.

Bluestone Vineyard Blanc de Noirs 2019 (6 Bottles) Cholderton, Wiltshire, England

he 2019 Blanc de Noirs is an almost equal blend of Pinot Noir and Meunier at 51% and 49% respectively, with a small addition of 3% reserve wine.
It was bottled in September 2020 and disgorged in November 2023, thus spending more than our minimum of three years on lees for our sparkling white wines. It has now spent over a year on cork, which has given us confidence, after tasting of course, that it is in a sweet spot and ready to be released and enjoyed.

The 2022 vintage, bottled in May 2023 by winemaker Steve Brooksbank, offers an inviting bouquet of ripe tropical fruits, delivering a bright and aromatic nose.

Winding Wood Brut Rosé 2020 (6 Bottles) Hungerford, Berkshire, England

This is our second release of sparkling rosé. Pressed, fermented, and bottled at Offbeat Wines by Daniel Ham, our winemaker. The grapes were hand-harvested and a whole bunch pressed. The wine underwent secondary fermentation in the bottle and then spent 18 months on its yeast lees and a further 6 months ‘on cork’. Released June 2023. This is a 100% pinot-based rosé — a departure from our first which contained a blend of chardonnay and pinot.

The wine has been gently aged in French oak barrels for 8 months, to add more depth and complexity.
