“A chardonnay for those who favour balance, freshness and sophistication” is how our Head Winemaker, Fergus Elias, described his newest vintage of Skye’s Chardonnay, from the superb 2022 harvest.
Inspired by our home, with flavours reminiscent of white blossom, thyme and fresh lemons. Coming from vineyards planted specifically for the creation of English Chardonnay.
Skye’s Chardonnay is made from Burgundy clones planted on Middle Strackney Wood and Old Eight Acre, our two warmest Chardonnay Vineyards which we pick last to maximise phenolic ripeness.
Here’s three reasons to try our Chardonnay:
1. Burgundian heritage: this wine comes entirely from grafted Burgundian vines, grown on Kentish clay soil.
2. Unoaked style: this is all about the character of the chardonnay – zesty, fresh and Chablis-like in style.
3. Lingering complexity: this is proof that you don’t need oak to make interesting wine. There’s plenty of texture from the extended lees age, battonage and full malolactic fermentation.
Tasting Note: A clean citrus-driven palate with notes of lime and melon rind. A delightful, aromatic and complex Chardonnay.
Winemaker’s Food Pairing: There’s a freshness and vibrancy to this wine which makes it an excellent pairing for fresh salads. Alternatively, it’s extra weight (balanced with the citrus character) creates a delicious counterpoint to oily fish dishes and shellfish.

Crafted from 100% Chardonnay grapes and bottle-fermented in the traditional method, this wine is both complex and refined. Partial use of oak barrels and extended lees ageing contribute to its depth and character. Showing a good balance between its light body and delicate bubbles, it is bright, slightly golden in colour with a good effervescence. Bright pear and gala apple flavours marry with light toasty notes of fresh bread dough on the palate for a refreshing experience. Harmonious and delicate with a great freshness. Blackbook “I’d Rather be a Rebel” Rosé 2021 (6 Bottles) Battersea, London, England

Our rosé is made from pinot noir grapes sourced from Clayhill Vineyard in nearby Essex. The grapes are hand-picked into small crates then travel the short distance to our winery in Battersea. After a short cold soak, the grapes are pressed and fermented in old French oak.
The wine spends a further 8 months on lees in tank and barrel and 1 year in bottle prior to release. The result is an expressive and textured rosé with elements of strawberries and cream and ripe red cherry.
Brabourne Rosé de Noirs 2019 (6 bottles) Ashford, Kent, England

Delicate salmon colour with elegant notes of wild cherries, raspberries and almond hints on the nose. This wine shows a smooth entry with a fresh mineral wet-stone character and a suggestion of light brioche in the mouth. Perfect with light Mediterranean dishes, salads, fish and crustaceans. The Fernández family were grocers in Madrid when they decided to set this biodynamic estate up from scratch. Their objective was always to make accessible, easy to drink biodynamic wines and what they’ve achieved in 10 years is nothing short of impressive. High on a gently rolling plateau they built a purpose made winery cleverly laid out to facilitate collecting the grapes and making and storing the wine as efficiently as possible. The 100 hectares of vineyards are planted with many varieties but their Syrah, Tempranillo, Chardonnay and Viognier really stick out.
This Sauvignon Blanc is robust and bold. It has aromas of tropical fruit, bruised apple, brazil nut and dried orange rind. This amber wine is at the cross roads of a red wine for its tannins and a white wine for its good acidity.
12.5% ABV, Organic, Vegan Friendly.
Litmus Orange 2022 (6 Bottles) Dorking, Surrey, England

Modern white wines are generally pressed from their skins prior to fermentation. Orange wine is a term given to white wines that have been fermented and aged on their skins.
2022 Litmus Orange is produced from from 100% hand harvested Bacchus. The Bacchus was fermented and remained for six weeks on skins without sulphur dioxide.
Pale gold in colour the wine displays hazelnut, fennel and marzipan characters on the nose. The palate has a touch of Vanilla spice, is incredibly generous and complex and boasts a long broad palate with a gripping astringency and smooth, long finish. Enjoy with oily meats and spicy dishes.
Goodworth Brut Pinot Blend 2019 (6 Bottles) Andover, Hampshire, England

This is a perfect and exact blend between Pinot Noir, chosen for its red fruits aroma, its body, depth of flavour and fullness, and Pinot Meunier, our favourite, for its aromatic sweetness, a lush fruitiness and the capacity to acquire the roundness of age comparatively rapidly. The Pinot Noir grape provides the back-bone of our wine, whilst the Pinot Meunier lends softeners and orchard fruit aromas. A beautifully rich golden colour as well as an intense nose with red fruit aromas, such as red cherry, cranberry and redcurrant, are enticing us to take a first sip. A hint of strawberry lingers in the background. A creamy, full mouthfeel contributes to a very long finish. Ideal served on its own as an aperitif or try it alongside a quiche Lorraine or Parma ham.
